It was then she realized something; she had no clothes upon her, just her sheets and Altair’s body. Her cheeks began to get a little pink as she thought about what to do without embarrassing herself. She got up to change and Altair rolled over as to not look. It was then the princess noticed the medic's job on the wounds on his back. She was taken aback a moment, but managed to speak, "Altair... Did you get those because of me...?"
The warrior smiled to himself, "No, Asira, I slipped in the bath..."
She paused a moment before going on. "I think I owe you one, or more."
He started to turn over, but then remembered not to, "It's alright, princess. All in a day's work..."
Asira went to her wardrobe and got to the usual togas worn around, without realizing Altair was turning over, "Hah all in a days work eh…?"
He shrugged, "I suppose, your highness."
The princess pulled out her outfit and slipped it on, "Your eyes are safe to look over now." She walked over and sat beside him.
He rolled onto his back once more and watched her sit. She went through all that and is still as lovely as ever...
"How are you feeling anyway?"
He smirked, "I can't complain, highness."
She smiled, "Well are you hungry at all? You saved me and I think the least I can do is take care of you for a bit."
Hungry? Ah yes, food, that thing you need to survive. "Not a bad suggestion, princess. Shall I ask the guards to have something brought in for us...?"
Asira smiled, "It's ok, you just relax." Standing up Asira just popped her head outside of the door and asked a guard not too far off to kindly get a servant to bring a meal. Asira already knew what they planned to bring so she re entered the room and walked over to her window, looking out briefly only to crawl onto the bed, lying next to Altair, "I'm afraid that window is gonna be a danger."
"Has it been previously? I thought about it last night, and I'm somewhat confident that it should be alright. There's not really a great shot or way up here, and the guard patrol should catch anything awry... Although they goofed today..."
"Yeah, I guess you're right. You're certainly right about them doin' their jobs today... I don't know how the attackers were able to get past the guards." She lay on her back, annoyed with the guards, but she had a feeling there was more to this than they could see.
"Well, they did tunnel through the damn floor - that was inventive. And there aren't any guards in the baths, and they were busy with the games today... I guess I should have suspected some kind of move," he smiled, "but I think I was a little distracted..."
Asira blinked, then turned her head to face him, she thought about the last thing he said and her look of puzzlement, soon turned to a smile, "distracted... well then!" He half shrugged, smile still on his face. Asira grinned and almost laughed, at that point she wanted to give him a playful nudge or something, but she stopped herself. Suddenly there was a rap at the door, "Food I'm guessing, didn't take them long."
He gave the door a distrustful look, "No, guess not..." She looked to him, and knew exactly what was in his mind - she, too was suspicious and stood warily. There was another knock. She approached the door silently, when closer to it she looked back to Altair then the doorknob.
Asira peeked through the door and saw that it was simply the servant with the food, "Lady Asira?"
She smiled and pulled open the door, "We were just commenting on how fast the food was brought, thank you."
The servant handed the tray to Asira, "We?" he questioned curiously and saw Altair on the bed. He studied the warrior and looked to Asira, "I'm sorry; not my place." He bowed and left. Asira closed her door with her foot and made her way back to the bed. She placed the tray beside Altair and sat down next to his legs, "Help yourself."
Altair snickered at the servant and flashed Asira a sly grin, "What's not his place, highness? I'm not used to servants; whatever did he mean?"
She took a piece of cheese and looked at him through some hair that fell in front of her face, "He asked a question and apologized because he believed it was none of his business. They are not really supposed to say anything, or so mother and father say... I talk to them anyway," she flashed a grin.
"Mmmhmm..." His grin faded and he took a piece of bread and some water.
"What’s on your mind?" she took a few grapes.
"Hm? Oh, nothing, highness..."
"You said you weren't used to servants but... did you feel anything about that servant?" She rolled a grape in her hand, "Tch, listen to me, paranoia." He nodded slowly and chewed his bread. "I dunno, he just seemed oddly interested in you."
He decided to play this one out, "And why might that be?"
Her expression was one of thought and for awhile she didn't say anything, until finally, "We have a lot of servants within this place. They are all over; but certainly not all of them could be innocent..."
Altair sighed and hung his head, "They might be..." What were you thinking anyway? Altair or not, you don't have a chance with the princess. .........Yeah......... He rose to his feet and collected his things, "Well, I suppose I'd best be going, your highness. Wouldn't be good to have rumors started about a man in your room unannounced. I'll be back at the Silvermoon if you have need of any other service of mine..."
Asira looked surprised at Altair; it was very sudden. Standing up, she looked almost awkward. She wanted him to stay, but she didn't know how to ask him to. What if he actually just wants to be friends? Or if he just wanted to leave, "Erm... ah... kay. I'll check by later today or this evening, or something." She mentally slapped herself; what was she doing?
Altair opened the door and turned back for a moment, scolding himself in his head again as he gave a curt bow, "Highness," and started down the hall at an agitated pace.
"Altair, wait!"
Jesus...! What does she want now...? He stopped and turned around, and without warning, Asira took his face within her hands and gave him a long kiss. She pulled away slowly, surprised by herself, and felt a sudden shiver. Her face went entirely red, what brought her to do that? Oh now she ruined it, she totally ruined it! Her mind screamed and she hurried back to her room. ”Asira,” he barked in a militaristic tone. She stopped in her doorway for a moment and turned to face Altair as he watched her with a guarded expression, ”Do you wish me to stay or not. I don’t have the patience for this.”
Asira had a brief longing look in her eyes and murmered an apology he could not hear, "Just go." she hesitated at her doorway then went in, shutting the door. Leaning against the doors she let out a ragged sigh, what was this feeling inside of her? What was it about Altair that made her feel this way? She couldn't even understand her own feelings.
A truly wicked, perhaps tortured, grin crossed his face as he shook his head briefly at the door. Altair spun on his heel and stalked down the hallway, the very look of him enough to intimidate any from blocking his path.
The warrior smiled to himself, "No, Asira, I slipped in the bath..."
