While Remy had been mulling this over for an hour, Capricorn had already arrived, parked atop the hospital. Although the mech was quite slender, it was still big and Keira didn't want to takeup six parking spaces for each hoofed foot. Keira came to the front desk, telling the nurse a friend had just brought someone in and they proceeded to tell her which room it was. One the way there she passed the cafeteria, and who was sitting there? none other than Ruger. "Christ man," she walked over to him, "I knew Raiden was fast but, that fast? With my boosters on high I couldn't even stay up with you... you didn't get hit with any opposition did you? A few Phantoms and Strikes attacked me soon after I lost sight of you." Ruger handed her a coffee and they proceeded to head up to the room.

Sometime after Kiera leaves... Matthew sprang up in bed, body coated in a sheen of sweat. He had a nightmare; a rarity. He hurt like Hell, but nothing could be done. He needed rest, lots of it, beyond help of medical measure. He looked himself over, noting white surroundings. He was in a hospital, but why? How? He should be dead now, buried beneath merciless snow!
"Yeah... you can come out now."
He said loudly, snuffing Remy out, yet not even glancing in her direction. He was deep in pondering, actually, surprised civilization still existed, surprised a human was hiding nearby. As Remy came out of cover, an old hero looked up, struck with a startling case of de ja vu.
"Bryn...?"
He blurted out,
"Is it really you...? Did you come back, or did I meet you halfway...?"

"A little opposition from the front, but nothing Raiden couldn't handle. Two Strikes, looked mean and ready for business. But anyways, thanks for the complement! Raiden's the fastest guy on two wheels, ain't nothing stopping us when he gets up to full speed"
He handed her the coffee, and the two of them walked up to the man's room. He was a John Doe, nobody knew who he was or why he was out in the snow, and he hadn't awakened yet to be identified. He was, however, covered in wounds, which looked like they hurt but looked...strangely old. The doctors had done all they could, and no one was sure why he wasn't already awake, but they would give him some time to rest. His vitals were normal, and his wounds were stitched up and bandaged, so everything would be fine. As soon as he woke up. Ruger explained all this to Keira as they walked up the stairs.
As Remy paced on the rooftop, they made it up to the room. The nurses, however, would not allow both of them to visit the man at once, considering neither was family and he was unconscious. She would only let one in at a time. Since Ruger had brought the man here, and watched over him at the beginning, he let Keira go into the room. Instead of waiting around, he made his way quickly back out into the street, where Raiden was parked. Quickly climbing back up into the cockpit, Ruger turned on motor systems, and waited for it to warm up. He'd fire the boosters, park the big boy up on top of the hospital, and then wait for Keira. But before he could do that, he had to contact base first.
"Condor one, this is Raiden eight. Condor one, this is Raiden eight. Calling for confirmation."
"Go ahead Raiden eight."
"Condor one, we've got a slight situation here. Me and uhh..." he looked out his window to the writing on Capricorn's side, "Capricorn three found an unidentified out in the snow. Unarmed, considered civilian, freezing to death. We brought him into the hospital, and currently Capricorn three is in there now, to check on his condition. Copy that, Condor one?"
"Raiden eight, we copy that. Wait one minute, the lieutenant wants to talk to you."
"Copy that, Condor one." By now, his engines were heated up, and he switched on his boosters. Rising slowly into the air, he jerked a little side to side, as the gyroscope compensated for the weight differences. He rose carefully up to the rooftop, landed in a corner by Capricorn, and sat waiting in the cockpit. Soon, he heard a voice.
"Raiden eight, this is Lieutenant Carter. Report your status."
Ruger groaned. Lt. Carter was a hardass, and a complete dick. He wasn't the one Ruger wanted to talk to. But hell, he had to talk to somebody.
"Lieutenant, sir, I am currently at the hospital, along with Capricorn three, waiting on the status of the unidentified. He seems to be in a coma, sir, and nothing can wake him."
"Raiden eight, you are ordered to return to your posts as soon as possible. Request to wait for subject to regain consciousness is denied. Do you copy?"
"But sir, we...."
"I said do you copy soldier!"
"Yes sir. I copy." Then he quickly clicked off his end of the com link. "Asshole."
"Good. Condor one, over and out." and the com link went dead.
"What a mother fucker. Did you hear that, Raiden old buddy? Won't even let us stay to see the guy wake up." Muttering to himself and his beloved mech, Ruger turned off the motors and servos and slid out of the cockpit. He quickly went back down to the hospital floor where the John Doe was being cared for, and poked his head into the nurse's station where Keira was waiting.
"Hey Keira. Lt. Asshole says we've got to get back to our posts, ok? ASAP. So finish up, we're heading out." With that, he disappeared again, heading over to the waiting area to sit down.
(OOC: I hope that's ok, I kinda worked my way around Remy sitting on the roof and such, while leaving plenty of time for Keira to go into the room and see Matt. So whatever.)

About the time Kiera and Ruger were firing up their engines, the man spoke, somehow aware of Remy's presence in the shadows. He beckoned her out, and she stepped into the light, her great Aunts guns strapped to her thighs. The two met eyes for a moment, and Remy felt as if she was going to jump out of her skin when his eyes flashed with recognition, softening, and he muttered the name "Bryn."
There is no fucking way this could be possible. her brain seemed to stop working all at once, the name of her great aunt rolling around like a tumbleweed caught in a breeze. Remy studdered a little, her fingers making contact with one of the guns at her side, the other grasping the metal end of the hospital bed frame. She pulled out one gun, her face hardening, her mind back under her control. The gun was pointed at the mans head in a fashion that seemed very familiar to him, jolting memories free in his head, back to a time long ago when another long haired female did the same.
"Look buddy." Remy said, her voice only wavering slightly, "If this is some kind of sick joke, so help me I won't even think twice about pulling this trigger." The look in her eyes was serious, if just a little confused, but unmistakeable was truth lying behind them. "Now how the fuck did you know about that name, and where did you get those guns?"
Her face was stern, hard, shaped very much like the late Bryn herselves. From the sound of her voice, down to her manerisms, Remy was like a haunting version of her aunt, the same gun pointed at the mans head, the same fingers curled around the trigger, the same hazel eyes glaring into the sweating mans own.

Keira came out striding after Ruger seconds after. "Ah so the ass decided to talk his load o' crap again did he?" She smirked as they headed out for the mechs. "I swear that man just drives me up the wall! Too bad we won't see the guy wake." she motioned to the hospital as they both had reached Raiden and Capricorn. "Though look on the brightside! we'll be able to get our good ol' buds some exercise!" She patted Capricorn and began to climb in which at times could be just so darn difficult but for a seasoned pilot, it wasn't so bad.
Morgrim and Teighraq "Morgrim..." the cold, blue figure turned to see his brother Teighraq approaching gracefully. "What is it dear brother of mine?" "A survivor...after all these years hes alive." "Who? Whos the survivor?" Mogrim took a step closer to his brother. "Matthew Gigi, his body was dead like the rest of them, I don't see how he could have lived." "Must have finally came out now..." Morgrim scratched his chin thoughtfully. "Rhalends were downed and a golem. Many of our transports have been destroyed by the human mechs. I say we dispatch our own, to fight one on one." Teighraq looked around their icey lair, "no longer will the humans reign, however we need more time. We need to observe their strengths," he paused and continued in a low, dangerous voice, "and their weaknesses." Morgrim grinned a large, toothy grin, many would view as only the bareing of teeth; however his brother knew better. "Lets realease the mechs, and begin creating." Teighraq chuckled. Soon the humans will deal with pilots just as skilled as they, maybe even better.

Ruger just nodded, and smiled at her. Quickly mounting Raiden, he climbed briskly up into the cockpit, and started flicking switches. In a minute or so, he began to move cautiously out on boosters towards the gate. No zipping through traffic this time, not for him.
He had to let his boosters cool once or twice to get to the gate. Damn, but he needed better boosters. But hey, Raiden was fast, lightning fast, and that more than made up for his weakness at flying. Slipping out of the gate, he made his way once more to the place where Keira and he had been watching the horizon, waiting for more Strikes and Golems and whatever else the Brothers had waiting for them to attack again. It would be another long shift, he could already tell, and he switched on his long range sensors to see what he could find.
"Keira, how you doing?"

"Fine, hungry and bored." Capricorn looked a little slumped as its pilot was picking her nails while watching radar. "There are many other things I would much rather be doing," she paused, "hey, know what would be cool? If we could find the hidden city of them two brothers. Destroy it too... we could be legends!" She laughed, she didn't really think they would ever find the city, but if they did, what a wonder that would be! "Oh!" Keira sat up and put her hands on the controls, immiediatly Capricorn stood fully upright. "I got an energy spike at twelve." Capricorn made it's way a little closer to Raiden. "See anything over there?" she nodded ahead and suddenly the snow began to die down to a point there was no snow at all, not even a breeze.

Ruger peered hard into the distance. Nothing visual was picking up. He focused his long range sensors and checked the ping on his other equipment. There it was. Two signatures, moving in fast, at least a couple miles off. They skimmed over the snow just a couple feet above the ground, but they were big, almost as big as Capricorn. He displayed an enhanced visual shot of the spot where he was getting the radar image. Enhanced it, zoomed in more, enhanced it again, zoomed in more and again enhanced. Once more, and it finally clicked. He switched on the com set and spoke to Keira.
"I think we should get ready, Keira. Two mechs on fast approach. Probability is negative that these are some of ours. They don't look like anything we have. The surprises just keep coming and coming, don't they?"
Ruger activated the combat systems on Raiden. Suddenly, a clear male voice, obviously synthesized, rang out in the small cockpit.
Cannon R2 malfunction. Switching power to cannon R1.
"Awww shit, buddy, don't do this to me now!" Ruger groaned, and turned in his seat. Flipping open the control board for the second right cannon, he began flipping switches and reading the display screens. Malfunction. Ammo jam. He had a choice...he could either get out there, pry the thing open, and pop out the ammo, and fix the jam...or he could function without it. And considering how close the enemy mechs were, it wasn't much of a choice at all. He was going into battle with only one right cannon.
"What the hell, dude? Why you doing this to me now? You better have your act together, or so help me, I will take out something important, you better believe me!" He was royally pissed. This just had to happen now. Settling back in his seat, he accessed the com link again. "They're closing, Keira. And my R2 cannon is jammed. I'll take the one on the left, ok?" Without waiting for a reply, he stepped on the throttle with his foot and set the wheels squealing on the snow. He blasted off like a rocket, moving right at the mechs, not waiting for Capricorn to follow. He was aiming slightly to the left, and was on a direct crash course with the oncoming mech. It was only a matter of seconds....
The enemy mech stopped suddenly, pulling up hard and standing fully upright on half boosters. The other mech kept going, back towards Keira and Capricorn, but Ruger and Raiden had enough to take care of without worrying about her. Hell, she could handle herself. Ruger slowed Raiden down, then turned his feet diagonal and began circling around the floating mech, probing with close range scanners. Energy cannon on the shoulder. Looked like a gatling gun on the right hip. Possibly a laser blade in his left hand. Great, this thing had better armaments than Raiden! Well, let's see how it could move.
Raiden pulled out the laser blade, the long laser sword lengthening in his left hand as they circled around the enemy. The enemy had yet to make a move. It was obviously studying Raiden, assessing its risks. Well, Ruger could show it one risk, see how it liked that...
Suddenly, Raiden lunged forward at full throttle. He felt the whole body shake as the acceleration blew him back into his seat, and he whooped with delight at the feeling. As Raiden got right up in the enemy mech's face, Ruger slammed the wheels hard, and turned them just right. Like a rollerskater, Raiden curved right around the floating mech, reached out with the laser blade, and sliced off a piece of armor from its left side. All at full acceleration, too, without slowing down. Ruger kept going after the slice, then, with the grace of a figure skater, he turned around and faced the enemy mech.
The mech still hadn't moved. Its piece of armor lay on the ground, smoking where it touched the cold snow. But the mech had not moved.
"What the hell...?" Ruger did not have a good feeling about this....

Capricorn started moving towards the enemy mech. It started off as almost a jog but then Capricorns frame leaned a bit as Keira pushed full throttle to the legs, when she was a few hundred meters away she activated her boosters and aimed her weapons. Just before she passed the mech, she fired her barbed prong point blank into the core. The mech flew back with force as half the prong had made it to the back of the mech. The cord attatched to the prong was still slack but when it pulled taunt it had pulled the mech closer to Capricorn. She walked the rest of the way slowly, this was probably one of the brothers mechs, looks an awful like one of the three prototypes they had seen. The mech just lay there, didn't try to get up, didn't try to move. Keira knew it was still functioning, minus some major componants but it still had it's weapons. What kind of mech is this? Won't even fight, it should have even fired at Capricorn while she was on her way. "Get up. Fight me." Keira snarled as Capricorn kicked the mechs shoulder, taking a discretionary step back. The mech slowly but surely got up, looked down at the barb and slowly looked to Keira. The mechs optics dug deep and almost pulled out a little fear when it looked away from Keira and down to the prong, grasping it by both hands the mech pulled it out. Lubricant, oil, anti-freeze, any other possible liquid you could think of that spurted out as the mech did what it thought had to be done. It had ripped the prong out of it's core, barbs broken off from being forced out without deactivation first. "Ruger... there's something about these mechs that ain't quite right." Little did Ruger and Keira know, these were advanced mecha in their own special way. They piloted themselves, they could speak, think, but what they lacked was feeling emotionally and physically. Keira glanced over at Riden but he was too far to make out any details, she never opened a comm link, not now. With such unpredicatble, creepy mechs, she didn't want to become a distraction by talking.

Ruger stared at the mech, just as the mech stared at him. The thing did not look like a normal mech, not at all. There was something about it that worried him, something he couldn't quite grasp. Quickly, before it could move, he switched his com channels, exploring for a frequency where he could hear this thing, if it even was broadcating. The Rhalend inside was probably sending out a message to its partner, or maybe to the Brothers' city. If he could trace back a message sent....
Suddenly, he picked it up. It was on a low frequency, and the voice was intensely metallic and robotic. Almost....inhuman. And it was repeating over and over again, the same exact message, to no one in particular. "Armor malfunction. Enemy sighted. Attack imminent. Procedure? Procedure? Procedure? Armor malfunction. Enemy sighted...." Again and again the Rhalend inside of the mech mouthed these words, and it just sounded more and more robotic each time. The message wasn't broadcast in a certain direction, wasn't coded, wasn't...anything. Just...creepy.
"No fucking time for this...." murmured Ruger, and suddenly, Raiden's guns were focusing in on the mech. Three guns, the fourth one offline, were aimed at the floating figure. That was when it suddenly took action. It let go of its boosters, and as soon as it hit the ground, it hurtled to the left in a desperate sprint. Raiden kept locked on. And Ruger pulled the triggers.
Bullets sprayed out in a concentrated burst directly for the mech, lead time calculated and everything perfect. But Ruger had miscalculated the mech's speed. As soon as he began firing, the thing put on a boost, as if back boosters were firing, and it easily dodged the bullets. Ruger followed, the two top cannons firing in short bursts, and as he followed with the cannons, he moved the feet around, circling his opponent, who seemed only intent on outrunning the shots. And damn the mecha was doing a good job of it.
Suddenly, the laser cannon on the thing's shoulder aimed and fired, taking only a second. Ruger had to literally slam Raiden's accelerator to avoid the blast, and it still clipped his right waist, taking out a small subsidiary function. Pissed now, Ruger aimed with all three cannons, and charged the mech, laser blade outstretched. The mech hit its boosters, and so did Raiden, and they slammed into each other in mid air. The sound of armor crushing armor and both Raiden's cannons and the enemy's laser cannon firing into space did nothing to encourage Ruger. He was slammed forward, straining against his restraints, as the two entangled mechs fell to the ground.
There was a giant scuffle going on as the two incredibly heavy mechs hit the ground. It was like watching a slow-motion wrestling match. These behemoths were grappling with each other, the enemy mech attempting to hold Raiden's laser sword at bay, Raiden stopping the enemy from peeling off his armor. It was heavy work, and suddenly, there was a screeching of superheated metal as the laser blade sliced the mech's hand off.
Ruger took the opportunity to pull his mech into a standing position, which was hard to do with wheels for feet like Raiden had. But as soon as Raiden was standing again, Ruger pulled back, aimed the cannons directly at the enemy, and commenced firing. The enemy mech was bombarded with bullets that ripped right through its armor, and Ruger laughed out loud to see its main systems failing and its armor disintegrating. His L2 cannon ran out of ammo, and at that point he stopped, and instead leaned in to inspect his handiwork. The mech was barely able to get to its feet, but it did, clambering up and then standing there. Fluids leaked from its insides, and the many bulletholes looked angry and hot against its metallic skin. But then, suddenly, the strangest thing started to happen. It began to move its mouth.
It's mouth? The thing had a mouth? What in the hell would a mech need a mouth for? Especially one that functioned? Maybe if it was for show, that'd be different. But this mech's jaw actually moved. It looked like...looked like it was speaking. Actually...speaking. Ruger stared at it, an expression of complete surprise on his face, before he suddenly scrambled. There were external audio sensors, weren't there? He had to have something....he flipped switches and touched buttons on the control panel, until finally the cockpit flooded with loud sound. He turned down the volume quickly, but he could understand the voice now. It was metallic, robotic, just like the voice he had heard over the com system.
"...damage. Left arm disfunctional. Main generator damaged. Power....failing. Enemy attack...imminent. Must...aim..."
Before it could finish its thought, Ruger lunghed forward. Aiming for where the cockpit should be, he took his laser blade and sliced it clean through. He pulled out, expecting to see a cockpit in the hole he had made, but instead saw only mechanized parts. The thing was still functional! But what about the pilot? He hit it again, this time in the head, where the main sensors would be. The thing was too damaged to react properly, and it's head simply cut right off. That's when it slumped down, all power dying, all motor functions disengaging. Ruger leaned Raiden in close, took the laser blade, and began cutting at the armor. It took a while, some severe exploration into the downed mech, until he thought he found what he was looking for. But it wasn't what he expected.
There was no pilot in this mech.
Instead of pondering, he turned around and looked towards Capricorn and Keira, to see if they needed his help or not. His battle had taken quite a while....

The memories he had thought buried. The hurt he had forgot. He remembered. And he looked this stupid little girl in the eye. She had unlocked his heart. She had to die. Soul consumed with hatred, he lunged at the girl, gun knocked away, her body slammed into the far wall, the John Doe's hands wrapped around the girl's neck. When he finally spoke, his tone was ruthless and full of spite.
"You want to know about Bryn? I will tell you all about her; you can take it with you to your grave!"
The girl struggled, but the pilot was no match for the old hero.
"That vile woman was a manipulative bitch, my dear. You see, we had the company of knowing each other, back in the days of the Towers. But we did not stop there, we made love; an act of pure passion and pent up lust..."
As he went on to indulge the girl with his story, she lost precious breath.
"...but you want to know more? Yes? We went our seperate ways, she and I, and I thanked god. But it did not last long enough, soon she found me again, me and an associate of ours by the name of Nathaniel Cross. We got back together, but she did not change much, she wanting more and more control of my life; the things I did, the people I talked with, and the time I spent away from her. Oh, she was heartless, and I tired of it. I cheated on her, many times, and I took delight in knowing she knew."
He leaned his head close to her's, whispering in her ear.
"And so the story of Matthew and Bryn, our heros. You see, little girl, those guns - my babies - are mine. Infact, I will have to find them after I am done with you, through with choking the life out of your body...."

Huh... That was faster than expected. Remy thought as she was shoved against a wall, hoisted up by her neck as John Doe, or Matthew as he called himself, yelled about Bryn, and their affair of sorts, fuming, his face red with rage. Remy had learned a trick about positioning your neck so your assailants hands were putting less pressure on your arteries, and more on just your flesh. Sure, it'll probably leave you bruised, but it's better than dying. Still in some pain, Remy managed to suppress it, looking the man straight in the eyes with a cold expression.
When he finally finished she managed to grab on to a vase of flowers on a table to her right, Matt too occupied in watching her gasp to notice as she brought it crashing upon his head, loosening his grip enough for Bryn to take controll of his wrist and free herself, dropping to the ground, her fingers still clutching his wrist, twisting it around his back at a painful angle and shoving him face first onto the bed. "Are you quite done?" She growled, coughing a little, but otherwise alright. There were shards everywhere, and someone was bound to hear that struggle, which meant she didn't have much time.
She kicked her gun far out of their reach and bent down, this time whispering into his ear. "If you are who you say you are, then I've got a fucking message for you." She hissed, then released him, stepping back just in case. He righted himself, still angry as all hell, but calm.. at least calm enough to listen to what she had to say. "Jesus, ever hear the phrase don't kill the messenger?" She squinted at him, rubbing her neck a little, not looking forward to how sore it would be in the morning. "You didn't even bother looking for her after did you?" Remy started, shaking her head. "You know how many years my family has spent trying to find you? All because of a dying womans last wish."
With a sigh, Remy told of the explosion that nearly killed Bryn, her body found a day later in a field, and taken to a run down hospital, where Bryn's brother in law (the only remaining family she had, her late sister died early from the Virus, but the husband and their only son surviving) went to comfort her in her last hours. Mostly she was unconscious, both her legs gone, blown to bits in the blast. Then one day she woke up, and she told her brother in law something, a message to relay to one Matthew Gigi.
"You know what she said? She said to tell you that she was pregnant, and the child was yours. It died in the explosion, the doctors burried it in what is now a frozen wasteland." Remy scowled, the moment not how she had imagined it, feeling no better for her great aunt a few times removed, feeling no sense of completion. "So there you have it, you may have cheated on her you swine, but at least she had the decency to be loyal." Remy suppressed an urge to spit at the man, instead shaking her head and grabbing her gun off the floor. "Her last words were 'Tell him I'm sorry.' And then she fucking died, my great aunt a few times removed, in a tent passing for a hospital, her legs blown to bits and her only child dead. I hope you burn in hell for every wrong word you ever said against her." And with that, Remy exited the room, taking brisk steps towards the stairs, her mind completely and absolutely blank.

"And I care, why?"
The doctors came and went, an old hero sleeping off a consuming darkness. He would ponder over Remy's words later, after Eclipse blew her head off...
Maybe.

As Ruger had looked over to Capricorn, he could see Keira's mech was a blur, dodging heated plasma. Keira finally thought it time to teach this rude mech a lesson! Two long metal 'rods' that stuck out from Capricorns back folded over infront of the mech. Orange flames seemed to lick out of a narrow hole on the tips. At the same time Keira was trying to get the mech down to the ground, until finally she boosted into the air and kicked the opposing mech. The tactic worked well enough and as she kept Capricorns feet on the mech to keep it pinned; a needle like stream of energy seemed to 'dissect' the mech. Smoke and mechanicle fluids spurted from the new insicion, but by this point Capricorn had already backed up. It was her luck this mech wasn't very smart, however with a much faster mech, the laser probably wouldn't have made it through to the other side. Keira watched the mech, it stood up only to fall into two pieces; two pieces that still had moving limbs though were beginning to die down fast. "That is creepy and disgusting at the same time." The lasers had already taken their place back on the dorsal side of Capricorn, and as Keira waited for any further movement, she was convinced the mech had 'died'

Ruger switched on the com link and spoke to Keira.
"Hey Keira, nice job! You kicked that thing's ass! You ok? I've got light damage, and I need to refill my ammo. I say we head in to the city and refill. Plus we need to report this and get some crews out here, to see if we can learn more about these things."
He moved in closer to Capricorn, and inspected his own systems. Nothing worse than a small motor function offline, slowing down Raiden's right leg on the vertical axis. Nothing to worry about. Then, he saluted to Keira through the cockpit window, and made his way back towards the city. He wasn't moving too fast, because he didn't want Keira to get left behind.
"Hey Keira, did you see the inside of that thing? I opened mine up, and I found out something really...well...weird. The mech...didn't have a pilot. And the mech that fought me...it talked. I swear! I heard it talking, it moved its mouth, everything! What does this mean? Do you think these things are remote controlled? Or maybe....maybe... " He trailed off, instead puzzling it out on his own.
