(OOC: Ok guys... I know Ex has a new one coming out, and V's got Astrox 4, but I figured I'd give an old one a spin, see how it goes this time around. If nobody joins, I completely understand. But this one could be good! Anyways, here's the old story...make some new characters!)
“Damn it damn it damn it! The goddamn Japanese are now involved!” The Primero slammed his fist onto the table, making it shake and rattle. “We thought they would stick with their neutrality throughout the issue, but those goddamn Japs have stuck their nose in it again! Damn it!”
The board, all their faces shadowed by the darkness of the room, watched as the Primero strode from side to side.
“This changes things. Now we have a three-front war on our hands. The US and Europe are leading the charge, with the support of the Japanese and probably the Australians. China believes that they can recover in time, even though we all know that the SubContinental War sent them into a depression 75 years ago. And most of the countries of South Africa, even though ravaged by the HIV Plague, are on a completely different side from the rest of the continent. Gentlemen, what we have here…is a shithole.”
The highest-ranking commander in the Brazilian military, with far-reaching powers and incredible skill, Primero Junto Casanyon was a man who knew war. And what he saw here…was a war, a War, begging to happen. The shadowy man at the head of the table turned his head, and spoke softly, his voice a sibilant whisper even to the cybernetically advanced ear.
“What we must do, Primero, is very simple. We must establish a monopoly. If we were to allow the Koreans to finish Operation Blood Red before we do, then they will have control over the entire market, and possibly gain the aid of those who oppose the operation, as the countries see the great achievements of Dr. Han Nguyen. Once they have the monopoly on the trade, then we fall to the wayside, and the war crashes over us like a mountainous wave of destruction.”
The shadowy figure stood, his face still lost in the darkness, and he spoke loudly for everyone to hear. “The time is now, gentlemen. Now. Morality, ethics, values…all must be put aside. This is the history of the world. Should we succeed before Nguyen and his team, we will be able to create the greatest army the world has ever seen. Brazil, already one of the world’s superpowers, will become the World Leader, unopposed and completely unstoppable. And those who control Brazil…shall control the World. Gentlemen, Primero, we must do what is necessary to make this happen. This is our first and last chance.”
The room was silent. Every face stared at the standing man, who slowly sat down. As his body touched the seat, every head slowly turned to the Primero of the Brazilian Forces, and Cansanyon cocked his head to the side. He spoke in a clear voice for all to hear, and they all nodded their heads in unison.
“I…have a plan.”

The year is 2496, just 4 years before the 26th century. And the world is once again poised on the brink of outright war. A World War, an all-consuming war that may cost a billion lives before it’s done, possibly the bloodiest war in the history of mankind. And all…because of a few simple cells.
The world has changed. Cities take up the countryside of once beautiful lands, high-rises and skyscrapers, all shiny chrome and brand new, dot the hills for as far as the eye can see. The world holds over 9.5 billion people and 4 billion robots, even after the horrible ravages of the HIV Plague decimated 40 percent of the world’s population from 2376 to 2394. Androids walk the streets, wearing cyberskin so realistic that no normal human eye can tell the difference between living and polymer. Cybernetic implants are commonplace, advancing the sensory perception, memory capacities, and physical strength of human beings. The line between man and machine is blurry at best, erased at worst. But that issue was solved during the Machine Crusades of 2204 and 2216. Living in seeming peace with one another, man and machine work side by side.
But now, the world is caught up in a whirlwind storm of controversy and intrigue. In a daring move, the Korean government announced in May that they were on the verge of the epitome of human biology: the complete cloning of a human being. And not just a physical copy of a person, blank and uninteresting. No, this is cloning at its utmost…recreating the entire person, with his or her memories, personalities, and feelings completely restored, even from the point of death. This is a breakthrough in biology that no one can deny…this is the essence of Immortality.
Immediately after this announcement, groups across the world stirred in righteous anger and determination. Does that prove that souls exist? Does this prove that there is no Afterlife? Is this ethically right, to create a human cloned from another human with every characteristic? Will this sudden need for Immortality overpopulate the world, sending us crashing into famine and death? Religious groups, world governments, and politicians across the planet were up at arms, and they faced off, on the very edge of a devastating and completely bloody war.
But one government knew what to do. Rising after the fall of the American Empire in 2465, Brazil was considered one of the world superpowers in terms of military deployment and cutting edge technology. Their scientists, working on a program called Operation Infinity, had known of Dr. Nguyen’s work in Korea long before the announcement, and through industrial sabotage, they had gained an upper hand on him. The only thing left to do, before the world plunged into chaos, was to finish the cloning procedure before the Koreans. Once the Brazilians had this power, they had a contract with Custom Corporations, the private-sector company in charge of Operation Infinity, to create the world’s largest Immortal clone army. Clones that could be sped up in aging to go from infancy to adulthood in a single year, with every memory of their past stored within them, could be produced rapid fire in laboratories around the country. Even better, if they cloned an already outstanding war hero a million times, they would have an invincible army of clones set to descend upon the world, tearing all other countries to pieces.
All that was left was to form the monopoly.

You are an assassin. One of the deadliest assassins in the world. Laying low for the past few years, you find yourself answering your cell phone one normal, ordinary day, and hearing a prerecorded set of instructions. They lead you to a warehouse in Puerto Ribero, Brazil, along with an instant credit transfer of 4000 units to your account. Do you choose to heed the call, and continue your assassin work? Do you know who you’re working for? Do you even care? It’s a vast sum of credits you’re going to be paid, or so you’re promised. Should you follow or not is up to you.

A Few Notes
On Androids: Androids, robots, scum…whatever you want to call them, they are the mechanical counterparts to humanity. Running on a small cold-fusion reactor in their stomachs, they have enough energy to run for several days before they need refueling. A simple glass of water will do the job nicely. However, all androids are equipped with a functioning digestive system and a simulated respiratory system. This makes them appear human in every way. They eat, they simulate sleep, they simulate breathing…they simulate life. Their cyberskin is an amazing polymer capable of everything skin is capable of, but their brains go far beyond human capacities. Using gelcircuitry and advanced positronic relays, androids are capable of incredible processing power far beyond the human brain, thinking at speeds supercomputers of the past only dreamed about, and able to store their advanced and inefficient AI simulacra easily. While somewhat lacking in the emotions department, these androids are skilled at simulation and diversion, and can easily blend in with a crowd. However, they are more fragile than most human beings, easily breaking down and in need of constant repair to maintain operational levels.
On cybernetic implants: These implants are wide and diverse in their applications and uses. A normal human being may have a cybernetic brain implant, making him capable of storing vast amounts of memory on gelcircuitry tabs. Or perhaps he has a cybernetic sensory implant, increasing his sense of smell or hearing or vision ten- or twenty-fold. Or perhaps he has cybernetic limbs and muscles, balancing the human brain with the immense physical strength of a machine. Any type of implant that is completely unable to see with the naked eye, and even some that would be considered monstrosities and are easily seen, can be considered a cybernetic implant. It’s up to you.
On weaponry: Weaponry has advanced a thousand times since the old projectile guns of the 21st century. Operating now on differing physics, nearly every type of weapon you can imagine is being made. Everything from sonic pulse rifles that use a tiny microphone to amplify your voice to killing levels, to neutronic phasers that use the uncharged neutrons of the air to shoot energy balls at high speeds capable of piercing the body, to swords of pure laser energy capable of cutting any material in a heartbeat. Whatever you can dream up, you can have, within reason. No fusion bombs the size of a fist with the capability of destroying a city, for example, would be owned by an assassin.
