"We do not need sleep. We will...explore. Asid Row appears...fun."
The Infinity Child poked its head in from the rancid kitchen to make its claim. The creature was inexplicable, and its behavior erratic. Austin and the sleeping Astarte didn't seem to mind it as it crossed the room and disappeared out the door. The door closed silently behind it, and Austin was not disappointed.

In a house three blocks down, a man named Carl stood over his prey. Three little girls, aptly named Patience, Clarity, and Judgement. They were young, Patience 10, Clarity 11, and Judgement 13, and they were sisters. Patience was always the calm one, keeping the peace between her older sisters. Clarity was a bit of a snob, considering herself smarter than the others, and therefore better. And Judgement, well...nobody messed with Judgement. Until Carl came around. It had been the middle of the night. Creeping into their 15th story apartment, he had slaughtered their mother and father, and tied the three little girls up with flexcord and supertape, making sure they couldn't escape. Now it was daytime, and he stood over them, prepared for the final step. He would have his way with all three of them, then slit their throats while in the act. It was just how Carl liked it.
He stepped closer to little Clarity, who moaned in fear and loathing, and had to dodge a swift kick from Judgement. He pulled back and kicked the feisty girl hard in the knee, hard enough to make something pop inside her leg, and she tried to scream, but the supertape was unbreakable. Instead all she could do was utter a muffled cry, and back away, as he approached Clarity. His eyes were leering, his face a mask of grotesque delight, as he leaned over and ripped off the little girl's shirt. She tried to scream, but could only utter a muffled groan. That was when he noticed something.
There was blood on her body. A couple drops only, but definitely blood. As he watched, another drop splashed onto her milky white skin. But wait...if she was bleeding, why was it splashing? That must mean.... He reached up, and touched his ear, which was ringing gently. As he pulled his finger away, it was coated in crimson blood. He staggered back, realizing now that it was he who was bleeding, and he had no idea why. Both his eardrums. He realized that the girls' screaming was muffled even more now. His eardrums must have burst. He couldn't hear anything. He knew he was yelling in terror, wondering what was happening, but he couldn't hear a damn thing.
Except for the laughter. It rang out loudly, tinkling through his eardrums. Laughter like a child's, carefree and happy. He could hear it, even though he couldn't even hear his own breath. Laughter.
He hit the wall, and the back of his head slammed hard into the wavery dryboard. As his head cleared, he tried to look at the girls, but they didn't seem to be there. Carl panicked, however, because between him and where the girls had been were two figures. Oh...no wait...only one figure. His vision doubled, then quadrupled, then settled back again. One figure. A child, genderless, in a white robe. Its eyes were huge and yellow, and its fingers were longer than normal.
"You've been a very bad man." he heard, even though he knew he was deaf. The voice seemed to come from inside his own head. "For that, We will play a game with you. We call it Blood."
At the word, which seemed to drip red in the air between them, Carl felt a sudden shocking jolt in his stomach. He began to gag, his stomach opening up, and then began to vomit. All that came out was crimson bile. He groaned, and felt his nose start to bleed, and tears dripped down his cheeks. Crimson tears. He vomited again, this time less bile and more crimson. He was crying now, desperately screaming, but he couldn't hear his own cries. He fell to the ground, vomiting up blood, and writhed at the pain inside of him. The immense, overwhelming pain.
The Infinity Child smiled, a happy and carefree smile, as Carl writhed and vomited himself to death there on the apartment floor. It turned then, and walked over. The girls were still there, only now they were squirming and screaming in fear. But it simply touched them, one by one, and their bindings dropped, their bloody wrists and their puckered mouths finally free. They sat there, staring at the Infinity Child, fear in their eyes.
"Who...who are you?" asked Judgement, her eyes terrified.
"You may call Us...Savior." And then it smiled at them.
"Would you like to play a game?"
