Rival Factions
"State your given name, family name, and unit number." Andorra waited for a moment, before she scowled at its lack of response. "State your given name, family name, and unit number" she repeated, increasing her volume this time and growling slightly for emphasis.
The darkened room she was in failed to assume any familiar shapes. Shadows cast across flowing computers, what they masked was unclear, save for a vaguely humanoid form, set against green lights embedded into the far wall. It stirred slightly, left arm pressing against metal restraints holding it against the wall, yet it didn't speak.
"Ok then, let us try this a different way." She placed her hand upon a glowering red button next to her lithe body. The form moved slightly, maybe aware of what was coming, or maybe its brain beginning to sluggishly process the events around it. A sound escaped from it, not distinctly human, before its body arched as sparks danced across its body. The lights of the room dimmed slightly as the electricity was pumped into its form. Then it made its human sound.
It screamed.
Spasming form struggling to pull itself free of device it was attatched to. She let the current surge through its body for an entire minute, before removing her hand from the button and watching it. It slumped forward slightly, legs no longer capable of supporting its own weight. "We know that you were sent to infiltrate us, who are you?" It struggled for a moment, planting its feet once again into the ground, before returning to its feet. The dim light prevented her from seeing where its eyes were focused, but she was pretty sure that they were focused straight ahead.
"Andorra, are you getting anywhere with that thing?" A man walked in, pin stripe suit with a laser rifle strapped across his back. Black hair cut short, face perfectly shaved, thin rimmed spectables upon a perfectly straight nose. Light flooded into the room, causing Andorra to wince slightly before turning away from the figure.
"I believe I am beginning to get through to it, my good sir." She replied with a vicious smile before turning to look back at her victim, which had once again returned to remaining perfectly still.
"And what makes you think that Andorra, it doesn't seem to be talking to me." He glared at her for a moment, before waving his hand at the humanoid form against the wall. "Have you got it to do anything at all in the past few days? And why request all this power from my generators?"
"I have got it to respond, my good sir, which is more than your clumsy thugs have managed since we aquirred it four weeks ago." She replied indignantly, before pressing her hands against her hips.
"And what can you get it to do that my, 'thugs' as you call them cannot." He didn't believe her, but was at least partially intriguied by what she was saying.
"Scream, my good sir." With that she pressed the button once again, discharging megavolts of current into its form. After a moment it, as if on que, its body once again went limp and its screams, echoing around inside its own body filled the room. She wrapped an arm around him, before opening her hand and gripping the back of his skull, pulling his face to hers before opening her mouth and sliding her tongue into his mouth. Gently at first, their tongues rubbed together, becoming more frantic as its screams began more painfilled.
He pushed her away, he knew better than to associate with Andorra. A body built for bedrooms, man soldiers claimed to have laid claim to that territory. The few that truely had were changed men. Or rather those that had survived were. Severe blood loss and grevious injuries were the order of the days for those that had.
"Just don't kill it. Thomas Goddard will not be pleased if you destroy his first specimen..."
"You know my target?" Despite the fact that enough energy had passed through its body to power a small city for several days, its voice, partially human, partially metallic, was still strong. It straightened its back, resuming to a standing position and glared at Good Sir, before slamming its cuffed hands against its restraints. "I must destroy my target."
"Holy shit..." Was all Good Sir managed to mouth before it ripped the cuffs binding it apart and strode towards him.
"If you know my target, you will give his location." It announced. "If you refuse to do so you will be classed as hazardous and will be removed." It shifted its view towards Andorra. "You have been classed as hazardous and shall be removed." It added, before raising its right arm. Its index finger peeled backwards slightly, revealing a minature barrel ending in what appeared to be a small ruby. The ruby glew a brilliant red for a moment, before a beam of light shot from its hand and burrowed a hole through Andorras heart.
Good Sir didn't wait for it to return its attention back to him. He pulled his laser rifle away from his back and fired off two shots in quick sucsession at the thing. He, and his Boss, Thomas Goddard was used to the government utilizing what they knew was 'Templars' against them. Templars were, simply enough, robots with human brains grafted to them in place of the standard CPU. Standard AI's simply weren't advanced enough for combat with humans, easily defeated and almost laughable in performance. But with a human brain to add reason, imagination and the ability not to follow simple logic? The Templars were dangerous. They were, at least according to government propoganda, designed by a hugely powerful super computer, the worlds only self aware AI system. Ego-12.
The two emerald beams slammed against the Templar, knocking it sideways and sending globs of white hot metal to the floor. However, its thick metal armour held firm. Apparently confused by the humans ability to fire at it before it had declared hostilities, the templar remained inert, if only for a moment, before returning fire from the laser pistol embedded in its finger. Good Sir ducked down behind a table, sparks raining down on his back as the beams of light melted the ferrocrete of the wall behind him. Good Sir fired another shot at the Templar, hitting its left knee and causing it to fall to the ground, before running back outside of the room. Hammering the keypad outside, he sealed the room and flooded it with flammable gas, before igniting it and incinerating its contents, including, he hoped, the Templar. For a few moments nothing, just the sound of the flames filling the room.
When the flames had died down he heard the Templars fist slamming against the metal bulkhead of the room, bending it out of shape with its first blow. The door wouldn't hold much longer, the government had forced them from this base, but they would not win the war.
He ran away before the templar got loose and murdered the entire garrison of the base.

Welcome to Rival Factions.
Japan has developed the worlds first self aware artifical intelligance, Ego-12, however due to the massive facilities required to house it (at least until technology is sufficently advanced), Ego-12 'lives' in a huge bank computers in an area known as Area 51. Here Ego-12's machines and devices, based on pure logic rather than any need for design or compliance to any human law, are tested and developed.
Numerous terrorist attacks followed in an attempt to destroy Ego-12, all of which were unsuccessful. Ego-12's inventions were easily capable of driving back the inferior human forces, relying more so on fanatisism than any actual training or understanding of what they were going up against.
However, Ego-12, programmed to find uses for any available 'parts', found a quite novel useage for the brains of any whom would try and destroy it. Rather than risk its defence to its own, clumsy and relatively unreliable AI's, it instead began to integrate organic technology, human brains, into its creations. Provided with a near limitless supply of parts (terrorists attacks against it occured almost daily), it soon learnt a way to create self aware creations of its own, the Templars. The Templars, unlike its own simply defensive creations, were also capable of going on the offense against people who would harm it.
Around 30 templars were created, some remaining in Area 51 to defend Ego-12, others sent out to destroy those whom would try to harm it. A select few even designed to watch human society to attempt to understand it.
Content that it was safe, Ego-12 withdrew inside itself to create a 'daughter'. Its design planned showed Echo to be a highly advanced AI process, possessing a near perfect human body and brain, but organs, skin, and the mind of an AI. Echo should, in theory, be the perfect homologization of the cold logic of an AI, and the ambition, creativeness and intuition of a human.
You are a Templar, developed by Ego-12 to either defend its computer banks, go out to study humans, or to destroy those that are a threat against it.
The world is in an almost utopian state. Huge glass towers reach upwards towards the sky, roads are long since gone, instead relying on hover cars, or, for the rich, teleporters. Some however are not happy with this utopian exsistance and instead long for a time without there lives dominated by technology. These souls will do whatever they can to destroy Ego-12 and any of its inventions.

Character Bios:
Name: Your characters name
Unit Number: An obsolete characteristic, but important none the less. Unit numbers were only given to unaware AI's, but a large majority of the self aware Templars give themselves one also.
Brain Type/Compatability: The state of the brain used in place of a standard CPU, and its general compatability with Templar body. The two characteristics will affect how you are throughout the RP, so be chose wisely. A damaged brain will result in the Templar being clumsy and having certain weaknesses, however it may be more compatiable as a CPU than an undamaged brain. An additional downside of the damaged brain is the fact that more AI will be required to create a complete personality.
Undamaged brains will retain more emotions from their former lives, but no memories. They will be less clumsy at initial creation, but will have problems adapting to any in built weapons upon their bodies.
Apperance: Varies. Humanoid shaped robots to utterly inhuman.
Weapons: Both inbuilt and carried.
Other: Any inbuilt devices of use, or abilities carried through from life. You may remember how to do certain things (lock pick, street locations etc.), but will have no tangiable memories of former life. They have been deleted from your mind.
