Nuri let the song die slowly on her lips and became silent once more reguardingthe golem wiht solomn , crystal green eyes. Looking about she heared the whimpers of those that still lived and got to work. From a pouch concealed within her belt she withdrew a crystal vile filled with what looked like water. Kneeling beside the nearest injured human she removed hte stopped and let a single drop of the liquid touch the wound. It hissed as if fire had touched it but the wound mearlt nitted itself together leaving naught but perhaps the faintest of scars. Moving quickly and noislessly Nuri did what she could healing those that were hurt. By the time she was done Nuri looking about saddly then replaced the vial back within her pouch and turned ot the others. "Nuri Cursed-one will remain grounded to keep clam flaming golems anger and ensure no more needless life taking is done. Demon's flight is fast not many will return and those that do will keep distance. Dumb many are but not silly enough to pull same trick twice," she sighed deeply gazing about at the carnage and hte people who moved away from this group. "Fleet of foot must we be for Nuri Cursed-one does fear the city watch will not be so kind for Demons do dwell amoung simple folk stirring bloodlust, hate and suspition. Demons now dwell where htye should not and...." she looked at Skye gravely. "Soaring in crystal blue skyies did Nuri Cursed-one fell and smell that which is Plague. The Wolves of Chaos are near..." Her eyes roamed about the destruction and narrowed as a shadow stirred and then vannished. The hairs on the back of Nuri's neck stood on end and a shiver passed down her spine as the breeze carried with it the faintest smell of decay and death. Plague was still lurking near by and yet... the city remained in reasonable health it was odd for plague never misseda chance to spread hsi malady unless... She shivered again not wishing ot persue that thought and pushed it aside. "Can Gromnd stand for Nuri Cursed-one fears she does hear the march of the city guard..."

It took a few seconds after Nuris song finished before any strength returned to Gromnds form. He stood up, glancing around, the fuel that allowed his rage to burn was still there, though, at least for the time being, the flames themselves had been extinguished.
"Yes. We leave now." His words slurred as though drowsy. He moved sluggishly, as though his right leg was ignoring the left and moving only when it so decided. His arms, now feeling massively heavier, hung uselessly at his side, as though the effort of lifting them was now far too great.

Skye silently followed Gromnd, swinging her pack onto her back, she then stopped to Nuri, "Thank you... friend," she paused, "you said you could smell tje Wolves of Plague, do you know if they are heading this way? or just near." Skye didn't want anymore fights, Gromnd had to settle, which could take a few days, and she didn't want anyone hurt.

In a back alley long abandoned...
"...What is it that you need, secondson?" The man in black stood amidst the lethal effects of Plague's aura with no ill effects. The Chaos Wolf sat before him, its eyes a maelstrom of emotions. "We see that you follow the girl with the stone. We know your mind, forefather... The stone will be the property of our lady, and you will not interfere..." The putrid creature hesitated a moment, "She still has a place for you, you know..." The eyes of the man narrowed ever so slightly, "...I know..." A long, tense moment passed between them before the man in black spoke again, "......Tell her that she know nothing of my mind, and that I shall act as I please, and if that is to interfere, than it shall be..." Plague snorted as it rose to its malignant feet, "It is a pity that you do not join us, forefather. Is it because of us? Is it because of Destruction? Or is it because Lady Nariva is our master, and not you...?" Without waiting for a response, Plague saundered away. The man in black left no trace.

Name: Scourge
Rank: Demonic battering ram (see note at bottom)
Race: Human/Demon
Faction: Evil
Weapons: Himself!
Magic: Scourges magic relies on the build up of chaotic, demon energy that his body produces naturally overtime, then must 'ground' to prevent it from causing futher mutation or, potentially, attacking his mind. Bolt: Simple and effective, a bolt of black lightening which seems to suck in the light around it as it travels towards its target. Choking Darkness: An odd spell, this allows Scourge to alter the very air around him, creating a dense, thick black fog. However, that isnt all it does, it also causes the air to become extremely low in oxygen, causing breathing difficulties and even asphyxiation if exposure it so long. Burn: Set of randomly, apparently by damage to Scourges body, this causes black flames to leap across his body, and then to whomever attacked him. They cause the flesh they touch to mutate randomly, the targets skin literally bubbling as it wars with itself, mutating at a furious pace before the energy burns itself out. The scarring from such an attack is usually horrific.
Apperance/History: Scourge forsaked a life of virtue and instead chose that of a 'Death Knight' quite early in life, and his extreme fighting prowess and complete disregard for the life of anyone not totally consumed by evil soon earned him many many favours from the dark gods. However, the human body may only be altered so much before the warping powers of demons become too much, and the flesh takes a strange step becoming something much more, and much less, than both man and demon.
Scourge possesses a long serpentine body and many writhing, sinuous tentacles. It races across the field of battle, ensnaring its enemies with its flailing arms and vicious talons. Its many snapping jaws, razor-sharp claws and beweaponed tails decapitate and disembowel with a single sweep.
Scourge possesses long, continually bleeding wings coated with molted, curled feathers, and has never taken to the air, the wings are not yet attatched to its nervous system. Its main head seems to be held out and thrust forward from the main body by three cord like organs which pulse with blood. Its jaw contains three layers of teeth and the mandiable is clearly split.
When Scourge talks it is mostly through his main head region, though sometimes the other maws which form across his body have been known to join in, creating screaming, incomprehensible cacaphony of sound. Additional eyes sometimes form, though these are apparently of no use and are, like the wings, simply there for apperance.
Scourge is quite set apart from the usual creatures such as he who have recieved 'too many gifts'. He has survived the heavy mutation with his mind relatively intact, and the chaotic, mutating energy his body creates is usually grounded in a series of black sparks which leap from his body periodically.
Note: Scourge himself is never totally under control by any creature, demon or otherwise. He is usually left to his own devices, to do what comes naturally to him, and that suits the demons fine. However, at times of need, any 'ranked' demon may call upon him for aid

"Even if I knew, I would die a thousand times rather than tell you." Seru, a young merchant, had been the only surviver after a strange, serpent like Demon and smashed into his caravan and turned it over. Its tentacles and jaws ripping into the cargo as it did so. The other occupants had been crushed, or torn apart by the demon, it wasn't clear. Now he found himself suspended from two fleshy tendrils before the demons cavernous mouth, teeth glistening with saliva which dribbled to the floor as it watched him squirm. A dark, malevolent intelligance was set within its four bead like eyes.
"That is most unfortunate, but I assure you your first death will be more than sufficent." One of Scourges many tails whipped round and literally slashed the man in two, his feet and lower stomach falling to the ground while the upper body remained suspended. Casting the body aside and moving over to the caravan, he began sifting through the remains, destroying anything of value that he could. The humans relied on this supply source, thus he must destroy it, to better allow his allies to continue their great works.

Nuri looked about the carnage a final time her expression one of profound sorrow as she regretted the losses of the lives and followed Skye walking close enough to restrain Gromnd if necissary. "Watching and near," she replied grimply, "Nuri Cursed-one however thanks Sky-God , only one wolf and not all four acompanied by she who is thier mistress..." Nuri shuddered and gazed skyward losing her mind in the sky to drive away the evil images of the who who was the lady Chaos, her very existance was like a counter wieght to the healing and lifgiving potential of all Phoenix's though one day she would become like her beasts for one did not bind the Wolves pf Chaos to thier soul without repocussions. To calm her unsettled nerves Nuri hummed softly, there was nothing magical in her humming for it was just noise but it did calm her ash she returned her gaze ahead of her eyes always looking. When the others are safe out of this cespool of a city I think it might be best if we go snooping about for that abomination....Much agreed, we shoul pay due repect to the minon of chaos...Heh and maybe send him running back to his mistress with hsi tail between his legs, well... whatevers left of him by hte time we're finnished...Ye are vicious child, but then again so am I when concearning those beasts...We are agreed then?...Agreed...

Scourge wandered aimlessly for a time, searching for his most elusive prey. Merchants were by far his favourite, for every lost shipment placed strain on the human populus and, of course, spread fear amongst the remaining merchants of some 'monster'. A very real fear of course, but it at least served to futher disrupt them, even if it made his life excessively boring.
He eventualy slid away from the roads and into the woods, a place he was much more comfortable in. At least in there the clumsy humans would never be able to sneak up on him. They would often trip over branches or vines, or simply find a way to slip on a leaf. Hearing nothing, yet taking note of the footprints, one bipedal, one possessing four legs apparently retreating into the denser areas of the wood, he wrapped himself round a tree, relaxing the twisted muscles of his body and drooped his head. Muttering irreverant, incomprehensible verses. Blasphemous versions of the original prayers and hymns utilized by Paladins since time immemorial.

The shadows distended around the trees and then retreated as two figures appeared just within thier reach. One had eyes that blazed lke blood fire the others was hollow and soulless. "So Scourge are we bored killing punny mortla merchants yet?" the hollow-eyed shadow asked then stepped free of the shadows to reveal it was the Lady Chaos herself Nariva. "If so i have a proposition for you, I shall tell you and hten leave you to decide for not even I would dare think to tell you what to do.." The blazing eyed shadow walked forward to reveal the Wiolf of Chaos named Destruction. he gazed up at the demon giving no physical indication of what he thought of the beast and merely sat. "My Mistress sugests you seek out the Dragon named Skye for she posseses a stone of the most potent power... My mistress sugeests you go hunting for this dragon for she is acompanied by one that is a Gryphon, a Golem and..." Destruction's voice crackled like a hungery blaze but his laugh was like an explosion. "One that was once two, a poor abomination called Nuri Cursed-one. Once a human girl and a true Phoenix bound and merged ot a point where it is almost imnpossible to tell where one starts and the other ends. We have my brother Plague to thank for that bit of information." Nariva smiled fondly at Destruction running her stained fingers through his thick black fur while watching the demon in the tree. "of course it is you're choice but think of the fun you could have fighting such creatures not to mention a dragon of all beings!" she laughed and then turned walknig bakc ot the shadows. "If you wish to take up the challange just call for War he will guide you ot thier last known location." With that she vannished with Destruction at her side.

Harfang was back to his normal self as Nuri's song ended, which definitely relieved him. He did not like being unable to make his own decisions. It was irritating at best, and dangerous at worst. But now, he felt like himself again, and didn't feel the calming magic of the Phoenix's song. It was like awakening from a dream. He staggered a little, and as the others started to move, he followed along. For some reason, he could not bring himself to speak of his success in hunting down the demons. In fact, his pride had been somehow replaced by shame. What was it, that made him ashamed to kill? He had never felt that way before. In fact, it had always been a pleasure for him to destroy those that did not deserve to live. He considered it his role to pass judgement on the evil of the world. But now, this shame. What was it?
Then he realized what it might be. The lady, Skye. He literally stopped in his tracks, the others walking on, as this thought came to him, and his beak fell open. He knew why he was ashamed at killing the demons; he didn't want Skye to live. That unexplicable, unequivocal rage inside of him had really gotten to his head. He felt pure hatred for the woman, in his deepest heart, felt pure unadulterated hatred for her. So, when the demons were after her, he felt shame in killing them. Because he was, in fact, on their side.
No! No.... It was not possible. There was no possible way that he could share objectives with demons. They were the epitome of evil! And Harfang, he always fought on the side of justice and peace. There was no way he could side with demons, not even if he didn't like this woman. It was just out of the question. He resumed walking, catching up to the rest of the group as they made their way along the street.
Unless.... A thought struck him. Maybe....maybe Skye wasn't good. Maybe she wasn't noble. That would explain the angry feelings he had towards her. That would explain the demons attacking her. Maybe she had something they wanted.
That's it! The Stone! That would explain everything! If the stone that Skye carried was some kind of evil talisman, then the demons would be after it. That would explain the funny feelings he got from the woman, and the way the demons chased her! It all made sense now. The stone was some kind of evil artifact, which Skye probably planned on using for evil purposes. And the demons wanted it back, so they could use it for themselves. Well, Harfang wasn't about to let such a powerful artifact fall into evil hands. He would take it from whoever wanted it, and see that it was delivered into good hands. Maybe even his own hands...or in this case, paws. That would be the right thing to do. Steal the stone, and defend it against all evil. That's what he would do.
He caught up with the others quickly, and he assumed a normal pose as he walked. There was no need to let anyone else know his plans. Skye and Gromnd would definitely try to stop him. But they were pawns to the evil anyways, so they couldn't be expected to help him. Maybe Nuri would help him steal the stone. He wasn't sure. So until he WAS sure, he'd keep it a complete secret. Then he would see what happened when the stone was gone. He'd see where they'd go, and what they'd do. The poor, deluded fools.

After a few hours of trudging through the Blood Plains and passing some merchants, they began to get close to the base of the mountains. "The pass..." Skye muttered and scanned the base of the large rock formations, "there." thankfully they were right on course, straight ahead of them, a long wide pass that merchants and other travellers frequently use, it would lead them to the forests of Teira. A forest that used to be swarming with Fearies, pixies, all of the sorts, but now have since gone in hiding, until called upon. Skye was still thinking about where they should head, she wanted a safe place, and the last safe place she could think of was where the dragons used to roam, it was quite far but it was a land where even the grass had a shimmer of magic. But wait, Harfang... He won't like it there, however it is in a Gryphons nature to do whats good, and if it's a sanctuary for the time being, then perhaps he'll be able to handle it. And what of herself? The gang didn't know of her true appearance, and Gromnd, how will he react? Especially the Gryphon, she could hardly supress her hate towards him every second, but she couldn't afford to fight a friend... wait... a friend? No! Or is he? Skye looked to the heavens above them, she called a gryphon, a friend? Maybe he was, he is protecting her, she considered Gromnd one of her friends, and even Nuri, Skye liked to think of her as a friend too. Skye dropped the subject for now, being distracted lets your guard down and thats a risk no one can take.

Nuri had let herself trail behind hte group as htye left the city and continued across the blood plains. Her ears listened hard for thesound of persuit and her mind traced the plains behind them as she hunted the wolf she knew was following. Irritated by the thought of the wolf her wings smouldered faintly and the air around her heated up. Nuri carefuly unstrapped the massize bow she carried and strung it while she walked her quiver was strapped to her back allowing for easy acess and she wanted ot be sure. Reaching over her shoulder she removed one phoenix feather fletched arrow and stopped watching the others continue further on ahead she turned so her back was to then and loaded an arrow drawing the string taunt and waited. Clouds chased by the wind passed overhead while Nuri waited casting shadows across the vast plains. Then she turned sharply letting her arrow fly. It saield silently through the air travelnig faster then any eye but her own could see. some six hundred yards away a shape flickered into sighed and tumbled. Nuri smiled with satisfaction as she felt vaugly the sensation of disease flicker and then vannish as the shape too dissapeared. Content now to continue Nuri turned and walked along whisteling a merry tune. Plague was no doubt already back at his mistress's side after the arrow had punctured his heart and it would take him many many days to relocate them.

Plague had fallen. But he wasn't the only thing following them. The man in black watched them from afar, a simple scry allowing him to do so. He watched and laughed as Plague bit its tongue in suprise as the fatal arrow pierced his heart and shook his head as the vile creature melted away into a putrid green mist, sailing back to mommy, no doubt. He saw the pass before them, and pondered their next move. Before it came to what they did, the man in black wanted to be at the Stonepeak checkpoint where travellers and merchants alike must go through at the pass.

Having to keep a continual eye on Gromnd had taken its toll on the group. It was hard walking around with an extremely powerful, highly tempremental being that was quite invunerable to most forms of attack, but now thrown in he was in an exceptionally bad mood aswell and would likely flare at nothing? While he hadn't shown any outward signs of being ready to go on the rampage again, he was unusually quiet, his head always facing forwards. Though that had at least meant he had avoided the acid stares of people as they walked past him.
Do Demons want Skyes big magic? Skye heard Gromnds voice inside her skull, ceasing movement in shock for a moment as she realised that he had somehow invaded her mind and was talking to her. True, it was expected any being so magical in nature would be capable of such, yet Gromnd being capable of doing so just seemed, odd. Or they want stone?. It wasn't causing Gromnd any apparent strain, he simply continued walking forwards, apparently intent simply on getting where they were going as quickly as possible and as civilly as possible.
