This will be harder than I thought.. Lily's brain told her, and she quirked an eyebrow at the boy. Shrugging, she played it off like it was no big deal. "Yeah, just make for some fun stories once in a while, you know. I heard this one from my friend Jason about everyone around him freezing, and the world turning blue." Lily laughed, as if it really were amusing, and then hopped onto her feet, her hiking boots catching her with extra traction. "So, lets see here." She grabbed the bright yellow piece of paper that told Alex his classes and their room numbers, adorning her face with her frames once again. For such a small school, it really was quite confusing.
"Aaah, good old Bixby History is next." She grinned, glad to see they had at least one class together. "Just so happens, that is my favorite subject." She nodded her head for him to follow, and he did so. "We'll just take a quick stop at my locker, and then we can wait outside the classroom for this period to be over." As they were walking, Lily struggled as to find a course of action that would help her break the news to Alex in the easiest way possible. Most of the other Midnighters had spent enough time in the Secret Hour that they remembered it well enough by the time the others had found them. What a hairy situation.. Lily thought, but instantly regretted it. The phrase had always reminded her of spiders.. Tarantulas in particular. The hairs on her arms and the back of her neck stood on end, and she shivered slightly, trying to drown out the suppressed memories. A deep breath, and a swallow of the saliva building in her mouth, and she had successfully gotten rid of the thoughts... for now.
The two reached her locker, and she twirled it open, her fingers moving expertly, with years of practice. "I'd suggest buying your own lock.. The ones they supply you with are crap, and they keep the codes in a pretty obvious place in the office. We had quite a few break ins last year." Lily told him as she gathered her books, shoving a pencil in her pocket. Finally, she shut the locker, and the two were headed to History, which wasn't far from where they were. "So, where did you move from?" Lily asked, trying to be as friendly as possible. If she could befriend him, maybe seeing her again in the blue time would spark something in his memory. She looked to him, smirking, not showing the fact that with her glasses on, he was a blurr in front of her.
They reached the class, and sat back down on the floor. "Bixby has this weird thing about the number thirteen." She started, telling him she would help him get up to date with the class, "My friend Jason could tell you better, he is the local math wiz and all, but here are some basics: The seal is, as I'm sure you've seen, a thirteen pointed star. I bet you wondered why most of the older houses had a plaque on the outside with the seal on it right? Well that was the sign way back when, saying if the house had insurance or not. Thats what they tell you in the class, that is. Some people have more.. interesting takes on it though." She smirked, sliding her glasses off to see him better. "They claim it has to do with protection from the freaky things out in the Snake Pit." Lily laughed, and shrugged, telling him she wasn't sure what she believed. "Of course, thats only the beginning of the thirteens, I mean, they are everywhere. Most of the historical buildings have thirteen steps, or thirty-nine, which is three times thirteen, if you didn't know. What I don't get, is why this place isn't plagued by bad luck, because seriously, isn't thirteen the most unlucky number ever?"
With another shrug, Lily stopped talking, not wanting to annoy the boy with History. She leaned back and studied her hands, which were in perfect focus, and asked him another, more personal question. "Was it hard? Leaving all those people in your old town? I've lived here my whole life.. I don't know if I can imagine leaving it.." She looked back to him, tilting her head with a questioning look on her face. "If you don't want to say, no big.. I shouldn't pry, I'm sorry.." Lily furrowed her brows, biting her bottum lip and looking down, truly sorry for being nosy. She didn't know where it came from, and had said it before she knew what she was doing. Way to blow it idiot..

Jason liked his morning car rides with Lily. He liked sitting close to her, it made him feel...good. Smart. Powerful. They were almost always running late, but today Lily seemed in a rush to get to school, and barely even said goodbye to Erika and Jason as she practically ran for the office. He shrugged, watching her go, and felt a pang of sadness. Turning to Erika, he looked at her, and thought Not a word. She got the picture.
He said goodbye to Erika before class began, and made it alright to his first class. Which was good. Usually, when he was late, he had to do a ritual to get in the door. It happened whenever he felt unduly stressed. But first, before class, he had something to do. Disappearing quickly into the bathroom, he began to wash his hands. This was a ritual too. Washing of the Hands Before Class. One of his top ten most normal rituals. He scrubbed, first the palms, then the backs, then between the fingers, then at the tips of the fingers, then back to the palms again, repeating the cycle. It took him a good 2 full minutes to wash his hands, sometimes longer if he felt dirty. And he quite often felt dirty, for some reason or another. But he worked it out perfectly so that he got to class just on time, and entered right before the bell rang.
Taking a seat in the back, he waited for the teacher to start the class. He was in Special Education for 2 reasons. #1, because he had severe OCD, and he couldn't function correctly in a normal classroom. His rituals distracted classmates, and worried them to no end. And #2, because he was (and there was no pride involved, only a logical understanding of facts) a mathematical genius. He simply excelled in every math he took. So, they had put him into a Special Education class. Not one with the deviants of schoolground society, not the one for people with mental retardation or social ineptitude. No, this was like a free class. He was basically given an assignment in the morning that usually involved multiple aspects of school work, from math to history to English to obscure philosophy and anthropology, and told to work on it. It was due by the end of the day. It was Bixby's only way to teach someone like him, and he was the only student in the program. And really, it was useless anyways. He was operating far above normal, even for some geniuses, and they really couldn't teach him a damn thing. His assignment today was to map the socio-economic class systems of present-day India, along with appropriate population counts and Calculus-driven mathematical representations of class flow. He finished the project within the first period, and so felt bored by the time 10 am rolled around.
He sat quietly, working steadily, but not on the silly class representation or anything like that. He had more important work to do. Like understanding why this new Midnighter appeared out of nowhere. He knew a bunch about the Lore. Nowhere near as much as Lily, because he wasn't a Seer, but enough to help him in his calculations. And he remembered every single thing Lily had ever told him about the Lore. And this...this was new. Why hadn't they ever heard about electronics working in the blue time? Why hadn't they ever been told to expect a new Midnighter on a night like last night? The numbers just didn't add up. He began doing math work on a sheet of paper, quickly filling it up and moving on to a notebook. Derivatives, multiple coefficients, solving for y log x in the fifth dimension.... It was all very difficult stuff, but he did it effortlessly. And soon came to a conclusion.
He needed more data.
Where the hell was Lily when he needed her? He needed to know more about what the Lore said. Maybe this was mentioned somewhere in there.
Suddenly, he felt a strong urge to wash his hands. Actually, it was less like an urge, and more like a demand. He stood up, straightened his ironed dress shirt 3 times, took a step first with his left foot, then proceeded to go to the bathroom. As he rounded the corner, he heard voices. One of them sounded...very familiar. Not like he had any other damn friends in this school, so really, it could only have been Lily. His face brightened as he figured she was out in the halls as well, and he peeked around the corner, to see where she was.
There she was, with the new Midnighter. And they were sitting on the ground together, just chatting away. And she had her glasses off. She never took her glasses off in the daytime! Plus...they seemed to be...leaning very close to one another. Very confidential, those two. Almost as if they didn't want anyone to hear them....
Jason turned back the way he had come without going around the corner. He would use the bathroom at the other end of the hall. Yeah, this one was probably dirty, that's all. He tried not to notice his shortness of breath, nor the fact that his vision was slightly blurred. He made it to the bathroom, and washed his hands methodically. For over 5 minutes straight. And the whole time, even as his skin ached and his joints cracked with all the scrubbing, he could picture how Lily looked. With her glasses off. Leaning towards the new kid.....
His hands bled by the time he dried them off. But he felt better. Cleaner. He went back to class, sat down, and worked on some more calculations. He would have to speak with Lily later on.

Alex leaned his head back against the locker, looking up at the ceiling and wishing that it were made of glass so that he could see whatever the sky was like that moment. It was a touchy subject. "Maybe I'll tell you about it some other time, eh? Right now I'm more interested in hearing about this backwater town's history than talking about my own, and that interest is low to begin with." Alexander wasn't even worried about insulting Lilly just then; he was in his own mind.
But after half a minute of silnce he remembered himself and snapped back to life, looking slyly back at Lilly. You know... I wouldn't mind hanging out with her more often. She's cute, she knows about this place, and she seems genually nice. Yeah... this might not be so bad. If only Pat were here to see me now, though. God damn it. Alex slammed his head against the locker, as hard as he dared to, not wanting to hurt himself, but really wanting to expell physical energy.
Pat had been his best friend back in Northland, where he used to live. They were real close; did everything together. Now he'd probobly never see him, or anyone else from that place again. And I've come to a city where they don't even trust their own water. Brilliant.

Erika closed her book and rubbed at her throbbing temples. Math class was nearly over, it was only the start of the day and already she was feeling to damn tired to cope. Closing her books she left the class and wandered up the corridor. It was there she spotted Lily and Casanova. ‘Hey-a Bat-Girl!’ she called waving it Lily then eyeing the kid next to her with curiosity that was quickly masked by indifference. ‘I dunno about you but I’ve had it fortoday. The schools a fucking sink hole and a living cesspool today so I think I’m going to drop out for the rest of it and have a little Me time out in the desert. At least there it’s quiet…’ she then motioned ofr Lily to come over ot her and waited while the girl got closer before leaning in just enough so she could whisper to Lily. ‘Watch out my blind friend wonder boy’s a regular Casanova and already fancies you.’ Then she laughed pulled away and then headed off towards her own locker collecting her bag and books and hone walked right out of the school heading home first so she could grab a few things before her walk. The further she got from people the weaker the murmur of thoughts became so Erika liked to go wandering out there on occasion just ofr a little piece and quiet. Though nothing was ever truly quiet for her and secretly Erika feared true silence it would be the greatest terror to her. To hear nothing but her own thoughts, her ability was too much apart of her for good or for bad.

Think Bat-brain, think! Lily urged herself, trying to find some way to recover from her verbal diharrea. She was about to apologise again, more of a stalling tactic than anything else, when a familiar voice rang through the halls.
"Hey-a bat girl!" The Mind Caster shouted. Lily cringed at the nickname slightly, used to it by now, but did she have to bring it up in front of the new kid? The look on Erika's face told Lily that she had been listening in on their "private" conversation, and Lily didn't know whether to be relieved, or angered. "Hey Erika.." Lily said, trying to play it all off. Obviously it was of no use, the Mind Caster knew exactly what was going through her head. Before she had a chance to introduce the two of them, Erika started blabbering about leaving the school, which wasn't uncommon. I think her excuse was chronic migraines, and the school totally believed it too. When she was done, she motioned for Lily to come over, and with a sigh, she complied, turning to Alex and holding up a single finger. "One sec." She promised, then went to Erika's side.
"Watch out my blind friend, wonder boy’s a regular Casanova, and already fancies you." Erika whispered, which was recieved with a look of sheer confusement on Lily's face. With a quirked brow, and confusement in her eyes, Lily began to wonder if this was a good thing, or a bad thing. One the one hand, if he liked her, he would probably remember more about the Blue Time if she showed up. On the other hand, people tended to do stupid things when overcome with thoughts of romance, and in the Secret Hour a clean head was essential. Erika left, and Lily thought to herself (though she was sure the Mind Caster heard it), Oh well, he'll probably accept reality about the blue time easier if I'm there.. We'll find ways to use this to our advantage..
As she crossed back to where Alex was sitting, the bell rang, and the students poured from the classrooms, filling the halls once more. Lily shoved her way back to Alex, grabbing her books with one hand, and helping him up with the other. She took him by the risk, and brought him through the crowd and into the slowly filling classroom that was Local History, 2nd Hour. She released her grip on him when she got inside, and waved "Hi" to their teacher, Mrs. Perkins. She was an older woman, in her sixties, and had been at the school for years. Despite that, however, she was an excellent teacher, at least in Lily's opinion. It was slightly biased though, seeing as Lily was the favorite.
"Ah, I see you brought the new one with you." Mrs. Perkins said, noticing Alex. Lily only nodded, setting her books down in the back of the class. Mrs. Perkins gave Alex his books, telling him some pages he could look over to get caught up, and then motioned for him to take a seat. Lily nodded to the chair across from her, and Alex sat. Five minutes later the class was filled. Lily tore out a few pages from a blue spiral notebook and handed them to Alex, telling him that those notes should get him up to speed. Her handwriting was clear, and angular, no soft, flowing curves to be seen, looking very un-lady like. "Don't mind the doodles." She spoke, realizing that most of the pages contained Lore symbols or sketches of the Bixby seal.
They didn't talk much during class, and when the bell rang, Lily once again grabbed the yellow paper from Alex, and gave him a look of dislike when she saw what his next class was. "Physics? Gross." She stated, but shrugged and gathered the rest of her things. "I'll take you over there, it's not too far from here." As they walked, Lily said that she had study hall this hour, and would meet him outside Physics when he was finished to take him to his next class. They pushed their way through the halls, mostly being left alone, but Lily did hear some comments coming from cheerleaders directed at them. She shrugged them off, frankly not caring what the dim-witted bleached blondes thought of her. "Alright, here we are." She said, pointing to a door. "Meetcha back here later then. Have.. fun." She smirked, and shuddered a little, "Yuck, glad I got that class over with early." With a smile, she turned around, and headed towards the Special Education classes, in search of Jason.
He was usually almost done with his assignments by now, so she knew she wouldn't bother him. She still found it funny that he waited at school all day until she was done with her classes, chosing to ride back with her than take an earlier bus. Lily didn't mind though, in fact she was greatful for the company, and it gave them a good chance to map things out for the Secret Hour. She headed down the hall, hoping he wasn't wandering around, she was just dying to know if he had made any conclusions yet. You better be where you are supposed to be Jason...

As soon as she passed in front of his classroom door, Jason saw her through the tiny window pane, and got up. Considering he was finished with his work, the teacher in charge for the period didn't much matter what he did. Plus, he was a card-carrying member of the NHS, so that gave him a universal hall pass for whatever amount of time he chose. He asked the teacher if he could be excused, and walked out the door, carrying his notebook in his hand. Lily was waiting for him beside the door, holding her books.
"Heyo, Lils. What's up?" He asked her, and together the two of them began walking down the hallway. They were close, almost close enough for him to identify her antiperspirant (not like he didn't already know it was Sure), but it felt comfortable. Normal. The two of them spent a lot of time like this, heads huddled together, chatting incessantly.
"It's about our time. Let's go somewhere a little more private."
Ignoring the obvious innuendoes that anyone would make at such a remark, Jason nodded his head. Together they walked, not saying a word, making their way towards the auditorium. There was a secret place that both of them knew of, a place that only a few students would have named, even though all had been directly under it all the time. It was the control box for the auditorium. That's where the spotlight went, where the light and sound boards were, and where the stage manager and tech people sat during performances. There was only one way up into the box: through a hatch in the ceiling of an overused broom closet that nobody, not even the janitor, ever really noticed. And Jason, being a whiz in the metal shop, had made a key.
They reached the broom closet and he quickly opened it up. Looking both ways, to make sure no one was watching, they both slipped in, and stumbled through the various cleaning fluids and push mops until they reached the back. Grabbing hold of the rungs of a small ladder, Jason went up first, unlocked the hatch at the top, and slipped in. Lily followed him. They each took a chair, and looked at each other for a moment. That's when Jason broke the silence.
"I'm...fucking....dirty." He shuddered, in real agony, and stared down at his hands, which had small smudges of dirt on them. "I wish somebody would clean the fucking closet and the ladder up here! I'm going to have to take my spray bottle and rag next time, I swear to God... Jesus. I'm gonna have to go through three rituals to get this fucking grime off!"
When he was finally done complaining, he looked up, and Lily was chuckling softly. He smiled, a bright, amused smile, and chuckled as well. He could joke about his illness, that much was certain. He was used to it by now, and it didn't bother him that much. It was just a fact of life. Carefully, he took out his notebook, trying his best not to smudge dirt from his hands on the pages, and turned to his latest calculations.
"Ok Lils, here's the thing. I simply don't know enough of the Lore to figure this out. I mean, electronics that work? A boy Midnighter who's obviously not a Mind Caster, or a Polymath, or an Acrobat, coming in out of nowhere? And on such a night as that? And don't you think it's a little coincidental that we planned on going to the Snake Pit on the very night this kid arrives? It's not coincidental. The odds are approximately 785,300 to 1. Approximately. That's got to mean something. You know what else I found interesting? If my mapping serves me correctly, this boy's house was at exactly 13 seconds past the nearest longitudinal line! That's also not a coincidence. Odds are astronomical for that one. But let me tell you.... I can't get any more information out of this unless you study some of the Lore for me. This is...beyond my meager skills. Maybe if one of the Polymaths from the Time Before were here...." His voice trailed off.
"So...what do you know? Update me on everything."

Reaching the small three roomed house that was her home Erika slipped into the kitchen using the back door key and made herself a take away lunch consisting of a few tins of tuna a sandwich a bottle of water, a bottle of coke and a fork which she stuffed into a knapsack which was left on a stool as she headed ot her own room and changed out of her usual clothing into her bike gear consisting on black and green pants a black singlet and a black and green jacket before she collected her fingerless gloves and her dirt bike helmet. As much as Erika would like to get a license for any kind of vehicle Erika knew she couldn’t get one, with her mind always divided and distracted she’d be more likely to wrap herself around a tree then even the most psychotic hoon driving 200miles an hour around a sharp turn.. All it would take was one distracting thought, on overwhelming taste and wham she’s lose herself and probably hit something or someone head on. There was one thing she did ride however her dirt bike. It was the one thing she liked about as much as the Blue Time. Locking the back door she collected her bag and moved into the shed unlocking the padlock before stepping inside wheeling her bike out. Smiling Erika slipped her helmet on her helmet and slid her goggles down over her eyes covering everything in a greenish tinge and then straddled the bike. Erika started it up revving the engine just a little and then shot out along the side path out of the back yard and out onto the street before speeding off down the near empty road out towards the desert. The voices had become little more then a murmur as Erika sat atop a small rise looking towards the distant town. It was on a little rock pile that she set her pack before riding around the open and undisturbed place jumping over hills and weaving between the weedy looking shrubs until a rhythm set in allowing Erika to really lose herself in her mind. Voices trailed away to something barely more then whispers yet still there just enough to assure her she wasn’t completely alone and worked slowly through what she could about last night, what she understood and what she could comprehend. How long she was out there Erika never really was sure but eventually she became hungry and got off her bike at her pack sitting down to a one person lunch. True she could have eaten junk but what was the point really? Considering she needed to keep physically ready as well as mentally. Finishing her second can of Tuna Erika tossed the empty can back in her bag and took a sip of water looking back towards Bixby thinking solemnly to herself here she was more peaceful out here able to think clearer. Out here she could let her frustration, anger; sorrow and despair ebb away as if it sank into the ground itself. Looking skyward Erika sighed and closed her eyes breathing deep the warm desert air before she slipped her gear back on and started her bike racing back towards the town. It was time she was back home then she could spend a few more hours to waste before heading back to school to catch up with Lily and Jason.

"Three rituals?" Lily laughed quietly, eyeing her friend. "We're moving up in the filthiness level eh? Last time it was only two." Lily leaned back in her chair, teetering dangerously on the back two legs. After a few moments the feel in the air became more serious, and Jason pulled out his notebook. He baffled her with numbers, and her mind tried, and failed miserably to wrap around them. She blinked hard, completely overwhelmed, staring at his perfect rows of meticulously tidy handwriting. All the symbols lined up, every decimal precisely where it needed to be.
He finished talking, and she looked up to him, her face that of a three year old who was seperated from it's mother in a department store. "Well.. I'm thoroughly lost." She said, then smiled. She tried to keep her focus on things, but it seemed impossible. "All I know is I've never read anything like this in the Lore." She bit her bottum lip in thought, wishing for the millionth time that she could find more than a few fleeting papers on the towns dark history. What little bit of Lore she had was almost useless.
Sighing, she leaned foreward, resting her elbows on her knees and rubbing her temples with her fingers. It wasn't easy, trying to hold a group together. They all depended on her, and her knowledge. Without her they wouldn't know what was happening to them at all. Closing her eyes, she tried to think of something in the Lore that fit this. Something that had significance at all. Once again, she came up empty handed. "I guess I could go through the town records... again." She gave a tired smile, trying to stay positive. "I don't know what I'll turn up.. if anything."
Jason nodded, and they sat in silence for a moment. He started to put his notebook away when Lily noticed his hands. She furrowed her brow and looked up to him. "Your hands are raw." She stated. And searched his eyes for an answer. She wouldn't prod him to tell her why, but she knew something was up. The constant washing had left Jason's hands pretty chapped and oil-free, but he had only left them in this bad of a state a few times before. She waited in silence, not sure if he would talk to her or not. In the back of her mind she reminded herself that she had promised to meet Alex after his class. What time was it anyways? She didn't know, and at that moment it didn't matter really.. Her eyes bore holes into Jason, a serious expression plastered on her face, her glasses on her lap, making her celery eyes intense as she stared.

"Raw? What do you...."
Jason looked down at his hands. They were pretty raw from all the washing he had done before. When he had seen Lily with that new kid. He knew, however, that if he told her that, she would immediately suspect something. Well, what was there to suspect? It's not as if I like her or anything. It was just an episode, that's all. So hey, why not tell her? Not like it matters.
Just as he was about to say "I just had an episode after I saw you", however, other words came out of his mouth.
"Oh that? Nothing. I just...fell down in the hall, and uhhh...my hand landed in an old piece of gum. I had to wash it really hard to get it out. That's all. It was fucking gross."
Knowing he had just told a bold-faced lie, he turned away from her, to hide the truth in his eyes.
"Let's get out of here, ok? Meet up after school? Then you can head to the town hall and check out the records. Maybe you'll find something you missed, you never know."
Without looking at her, he descended the ladder, and shouted "Goodbye!" up through the hatchway. Hurrying down the hall, he made his way towards his classroom. Phew. He had gotten out of there fast enough. He kinda felt bad now, lying to her and leaving so fast. But they both had to get back to class, didn't they? Of course they did. He would see her later today when she drove him home, and then they would talk more. Or maybe she'd come and find him later today. Whatever. He didn't notice the thin sheen of sweat on his forehead, or the fact that his heart was beating a bit faster and harder than normal. He would see her later.....

erika had put her bike away when she got home and changed out of her bike gear bakc inoty her everyday clothing.. Feeling bored she picked uo her thirteen sided mirror and began polishing it with a dirty rag to remove any smudges or greasy fingerprints before she headed at a leasurly walk back towards the school. It would nearly be finnished by now and hse had nothing better to do. besides she could pout up with the crush of noise now that she'd had her quiet time out in the desert. Humming to herself she headed down the road feeling in lighter spirits htne she had all week and wondered what the others were doing as they finnished school up for the day.

"Uh.. bye.." Lily said, slightly confused. He sure left fast.. She thought to herself as she gathered her things and climbed down the ladder after Jason. She checked her watch, hoping she wasn't late to meet Alex. Relieved, she headed down to the Physics classroom, ten minutes to spare. Before turning to go into another wing of the school, she peeked around the corner, watching Jason retreat back into his classroom. Was it just her, or was he walking really fast? What was he so scared of anyways? Lily almost followed him, she even started walking towards his classroom, but stopped herself. "If Jason wants to tell you whats up, he will." She whispered to herself and turned around.
Arriving a little early, Lily peeked into the Physics class through the small window on the door. The class was hunched over, writing in their books. Recording homework, Lily guessed. Walking back to the large windows, Lily leaned against the wall, pulling her glasses off and cleaning them on her shirt. It didn't help much. She stared out of the window at the vast desert that was Bixby. The American flag fluttered in the harsh wind, it's color so faded and it's edges so frayed it could hardly pass for a flag at all.
Two minutes until the bell, for some reason she was anxious. "Just ring already!" she told the bell which hung in the middle of the hall. When it didn't comply, she sighed, and turned her attention back to the window. Out here, there weren't many spots of Midnight focus, the slithers didn't like to hang out in the middle of town. She had only seen a few come past the center, and they never stayed long. Her thoughts turned to the darkling she saw the previous night. She tried to guess it's age, where it had been hiding out, and why it decided to come out last night. She was so wrapped up in these thoughts that she jumped when the bell rang. She slipped on her glasses and watched the hallway fill with teens, waiting patiently for Alex to come out of his classroom.

Alexander had been the second to last person out of the room. He was dazed, and had slept through at least a third of the class, which seemed to have angered some of the other kids next to him; though he didn't snore or anything. It was always strange how people get mad when you get away with things they couldn't. Science was juse easy to him, was all. Easy enough that he didn't mind missing a lecture, at least.
As soon as he'd left the classroom he looked straight around for Lily; the greatest part of this school thus far. When he didn't see her at first, he showed visable dissapointment and headed over down the hall. It was on this move that he acctually SAW Lily, and gave her a big smile, walking over in a sort of way that gave the impression that he was happy to see her. "What an easy class; I swear. What's the next one, official nap time or something?" A slight smile and he was back to playing to charming new kid, a position that fit him well.

"For you Casanova its break time, please lessen your charm before poor befuddled bat-girl is more dazed and sightless then before," Erika called as she strolled up the now emptying corridor. There was a kind of twisted smile somewhere between taunt and actual pain. She was stil feeling the emotion and thought of all the poeple in the school as htye clustered through the hall. The pain in her smile faded though as she got closer until it was completely gone. Looking more closely at Alex she smirked and then gave a flurried and somewhat mocking bow. "Allow me to introduce myself for i do not believe I have had the pleasure. I am Erika and there is one rule you must follow at all times when i'm here or anywhere. do not touch me, not a brush of fingers or a glance like a butterfly. I'll know it and then you'll be sorry...very, very sorry." She paused as her smile became gradualy sader. 'It's not that I intend it as a threat its just the effects can be.... unpleasent for me and... well you..." she shrugged then thrust her hands inot her pockets.
Looknig to lily Erika gave an acutal genuine smile the kind that even reached her eyes and brightened her overall and generaly shadowed appearance. "I'm revived and ready to cause some choas that little ride out in the desert does wonders for me." she chuckled and looked ta Alexander once more. "you'll find you aren't so alone here Alex, you'll find freinds in the strangest places and that makes the dark all that much more bearable..." she tilted her head ot the side then smirked at him turned on her heel and started walking back towards hte exit then stopped several steps away. "I dunno about you lot but do we really need to stick around here for the rest of the day and get bored sensless listennig ot these windbags blow air? I say we collect the human calculator, and go do something more fun... dunno what yet but i'm sure you could think of something eh bat-girl?"
Erika then glanced over her shoulder and grinned wickedly as she looked again at Alex. "oh and if you're wondering Lily really does have a spandex and rubbe suit that is skin tight. She even runs around in it during the nigth hours hunting villans in Gotham city. Sexy no?"

"Oh Lord, here she goes." Lily muttered under her breath, rolling her eyes. She crossed her arms over her chest, and stood with her weight on her left side, her eyes shifting from Erika to Alex, hearing what was spoken, and watching the reaction. Erika layed out the law on the whole "No touching rule" and was pretty sure she saw an eyebrow of Alex's raise in suspicion. The Mindcaster looked to Lily, giving a rare, genuine smile. "I'm revived and ready to cause some chaos that little ride out in the desert does wonders for me." she spoke and chuckled.
"You and your dirt bike." Lily said with a shake of her head, a crooked smile on her lips. She turned her focus to Alex, watching his reactions closely. She had slipped her glasses off when he came over, and she could see every line in his face, any indication of emotions splayed perfectly within her Seers vision. He seemed to be taking Erika okay.. A little put off, but okay. She did come on very strong. When she suggested they skip, Lily was all for it, and hoped Alex wasn't too much of a goody-goody. As far as she could tell, he wasn't. Erika walked off, but not before giving them an image of Lily in skin tight spandex, dressed up as "Bat-Girl." Lily visibly cringed, and rubbed her temples, her head actually hurting from the image.
"Sexy? No." She called to Erika's back. "Thanks for that disturbing image!" Lily rolled her eyes, "No one wants to see that." She shook her head, her cheeks flushing slightly. Erika had this way of pushing all the right buttons, Lily was completely embarrassed. "Hey, meet us by my car okay?" She yelled to Erika, but didn't wait for an answer. Finally, she turned to Alex, giving a half smile. "So, thats Erika." She scratched the back of her head awkwardly, her cheeks still red and hot. "Uh, she's better when you get to know her..." Lily picked up her books and started to walk down the hall to wards her locker and Jason's classroom, Alex following. "So, I think I'm going to ditch.. You can come along if you want, or I can have someone else show you around for the rest of the day." She put on her best act, trying to make her voice sound like she didn't care if he came or went.. But she wanted him to come along.. They had alot to explain. "We have to get my friend Jason.. and my stuff out of my locker." She turned, and pulled his yellow paper from his things, her glasses already back onto her face. "Well, your next class is the opposite way. You're going to take your first right, then down three doors to the left is the room. You can either go there, or follow me." She smiled and handed him back his paper, turning without waiting for an answer, rounding a corner to her left. She waited to hear footsteps behind her.. and when they didn't come immediately, she got a little worried. Come on Alex, you know you want to skip...

Jason was behind her as she waited. He loved scaring the piss out of her like this. He kept completely silent, moving forward slowly, stepping right up behind her. When he was practically breathing in her ear, he spoke, but very very softly.
"Did I hear someone say "ditch"?"
She jumped about a foot in the air. He yelped with laughter, and smiled broadly at her as she swept around at him, glaring. He stuck out his tongue at her, and she practically slapped him.
"Oh come on, Lils. I'm just messing with you! Gotta admit, it was fucking funny."
He laughed at her, and ran his hands along the front of his shirt, checking for wrinkles. He ran them down four times, first the right hand, then the left, and then down once together. Another ritual. He completely ignored the fact that he was going through another ritual, because it was just so common for him. Every day, all day, he had his OCD rituals. They were controllable, however. As he finished his little ritual, he spoke again to Lily.
"I thought I heard you and Erika out here, so I ducked out of class again. Mrs. Falto is looking at me kinda funny today, but she doesn't care, considering I'm already done my work. If we're ditching, lemme go sign out!" It kinda defeated the purpose of "ditching", but he was a stickler for rules. Without seeing Alex or waiting for Lily's answer, Jason bolted off down the hall towards the main office. He WAS 18, so he could sign himself out anytime he chose. Plus, he was done all his work. Not like it really mattered. Once he was all signed out, he would head for Lily's car, and meet the other two there....
