Graham stepped downstairs, and the first thing he noticed was Avery. Asleep. He smiled grimly to himself. Hey, what did he expect, right? It was late, and they had had a long, confusing day. He walked up to her, taking the remote from her limp fingers, and patted her kindly on the shoulder. He liked Avery. She was like a little sister to him. He could talk to her, which he really liked, and there were times when he felt good around her. Of course, there were times when she annoyed him. But hey...that was true with everyone, wasn't it? And he did his best never to show his annoyance, with her or with anyone. It was just how he operated.
He looked around the room, very impressed. It was...gorgeous wasn't the word, but something like that would do. Rich, plush, comfortable... rich.... He was surprised. How could a guy like Ace afford all this stuff? What did he do? It was a question he'd have to ask the guy, whenever Graham saw him next.
Sitting down in one of the comfortable recliners, he flipped through the channels, laying his seat back easily. Damn this felt good. After sitting in the Explorer most of the day on the ride back from vacation, this seat felt like Heaven. It was...enjoyable, to say the least. He found a good channel, which, even though it was late at night, was still playing a That 70's Show rerun, and lay back in the chair, watching it softly. Best to let Ave rest. She needed it. Hell, HE needed it. But he couldn't get to sleep just yet. He still felt a little bit awake. So he'd sit, and wait, and maybe Nick would come downstairs.
