Harfang turned towards Nuri, and spoke.
"It seemeth that the battle hath ended! Shall we go and investigate?"
Without waiting for an answer, he took a step and raised off into the air, beating his wings slowly. He was still very, very tired, in mind if not in body, and his entire body felt ten times heavier than normal. So he flew much more slowly than he was wont to do, and made his way slowly to the battlefield. It was almost empty now, but for the good guys, and the Gryphon was completely amazed. He flew in a tight circle above Skye and the man, Ordos Anima, before slowly setting himself down a few feet away from them.
It was then that he felt the rage build up in his heart. How DARE this man! There were innocent men in this group! This man, this Anima, had slaughtered hundreds of innocent men! Even if they had bad intentions and were working for demons, they were simply misguided fools, most of them! There was nothing honorable about their deaths, nothing noble and proud. They had been massacred. Harfang himself had attempted to delay battle by luring the men away, and killing the evil demons. But no, this man had come in and destroyed them all! It was a bloodbath, and it could not be borne. Not by a noble creature such as the Gryphon.
"What dost thou think thou do'st, fool?" Demanded the Gryphon in a loud, angry voice. He stepped forward and shoved Ordos with his shoulder, pushing him backwards. "Thou hast murdered innocent men! Men that did nothing to hurt or offend thee! What has thou done, knave? Thou art a killer, poltroon! Thou art a bloody-handed killer!"

Taking another step back with the blow from Harfang, Anima drew back his left hand and extended his right, a sphere of dark energy of impressive size instantly whining into existance in his palm, a ruthless gleam in his eye, "And you are but an instant from joining them, you pompous windbag. And innocent, ha! Far from it, O ignorant one. These empty-headed weak hearted 'men' as you call them received nothing more than what they had earned. It takes darkness in the hearts of men to be swayed by evil. And even if they were innocent, what of it? Their sacrifice to save the world... Or would you have us all perish at the hands of those I slew...?" The mass of power grew and Ordos took a step forward, Harfang taking one back, "Is that your mind, gryphon? 'Tis more honorable for us all to die?' Mayhaps you are on their side, friend Harfang. Mayhaps you desire to take the stone from the lady here and hand it over to the enemy to spare yourself! Honor, indeed!"

Gromnd moved his arms around beneath the earth, he hadn't sunk beneath it, yet it had appeared above him. Eventually he managed to push the earth aside and return to his feet. The environment had been heavily damaged, trees uprooted, or even slashed apart by unseen forces, the earth itself filled with deep furrows and fresh earth slung in all directions. Yet the demons were all gone. He had sensed magic from the newcomer Ordos, but he had never expected him to be capable of such a blatant display of power. Brushing the dirt off his body, he began walking back towards the main group.

Nuri came walking up beside Harfang and placed a hand upon his head looking up to meet the gaze of anima. "He menas no harm Sorcerer, all paths of different races conflict and disrupt hence the reasoning of war. There is no good or evil in the world of man but difference..." She raised a hand and placed it in the heart of the dark energy, flinching slightly and deflt she closed her hand snuffing hte life taking energy out iwht her own lifegiving countering the dakr magic so it was nullified. "Let us not make war between allies for divided in heart will we let the enemy conqure us all. and Nobel Harfang, hear now the words of Nuri Cursed-one. The Sorcerer is correct in his words, these men were weak of heart and would surly have slain all of the company. Be not angered nobel Harfang for while not demons in body they were demons in soul and mind." Nuri lowered her smoking hand and stepped away she opened her hand and showed her blackened palm, gingerly she rubbed it and then watched as hte injury faded slowly until the flesh was whole and unmarked. "Nuri Cursed-one suggests we move on with all haste and enter the pass before more danger does come..."

Harfang heard Nuri's words, and heeded them, but it was Ordos' words that hurt the most. How did he know of Harfang's plan to steal the stone? But he was wrong, wrong about Harfang's goals! He would not give the stone back to the enemy! That would be evil beyond measure! No, he would take the stone and use it himself, take it and keep it away from the demons and from the evil Skye. That's what he would do! His path was the path to glory, not the path to ruin! Who did this Ordos Anima think he was? So he was powerful, so he could destroy demons, so he could have killed Harfang in an instant? It didn't matter if you didn't have a good heart and a right mind. It didn't matter how strong you were, if you were weak where it counted most.
As the energy disipated in Ordos' hand, Harfang took another step forward. He spoke quietly to Nuri first. "Yes we should move on. However, I must do this, for my honor has been impuned. Please do not interfere."
He took another step forward, and looked Ordos directly in the eye. His gaze was as cold as the Gryphon could manage, and his voice was like frostbite. "Sir, though has insulted mine honor. That, I cannot allow. A duel, sir. Thou, and I. I will defeat thee honorably, and destroy thee, for what thou hast said. Willst thou fight me fairly?"

Nuri sighed and shook her head, her exression was oen of sorrow as she reguarded the Gryphon. He's a fool, it would be no contest between then Harfang doesn't even seem to recall hsi strength is not even half of what it should be he's gonig to get himself killed! We must not interfear, though in truth foolish is the Gryphon, unable to see it is his pride not honor that is harmed, The Gryphon's were always a proud race and it is that fault in them and the same fault found in Dragons that never saw either race at peace. We are observers no more, we cannot take a hand in the fates of others unless our direct intervention is required should Anima be too harsh we shall then intervean though it grieves me to see the outcome of this challange if it is accepted. Harfang fails to see what we do and that this Anima is far more then he wishes to be let known but as always unless the danger is imminant or our aid is truely needed we stay out of the conflict. I hear and understand though it doesn't mean I have to like it... Nuri clasped her hands before her and looked between the pair before shaking her head and moving away letting come what would come, she had stopped it once but would not stop it again not if the Gryphon truely sought his own destruction. She only paused once and looked piercingly at Harfang saying simply, "Many a nobel and great warrior has fallen to death for rash action in seeking ra salve for wounded pride though they may call it honor. Seek thy own Path Nobel Harfang and know that all are not without consiquence and many follow the road to thy own destruction..." She turned and continued on looking at her once burnt hand from nullifying Anima's magic and rubbed at the flesh again she had felt magic like that before once long ago but time was hard for her to grip as she was. did this memory of the power come from one past or the other?

Skye frowed and backed off to stand by Nuri, this has gone horribly wrong. How could Harfang do a proposition such as this? It was outrageously stupid. Everyone needed each other at this point, and fighting amongst each other won't get them anywhere. Skye even dropped her hatred for Harfang, as two races who hated each other it was hard for Skye to do but she realised she, as the Dragon Queen must be wise. Looking over to Gromnd who had just arrived to join the group and sighed, looking over to Ordos. Hopefully he was wise too.

"A duel? You offer up your life to me at this place? And for what - I hurt your feelings... Awww, poor gryphon want an ego stroke, for you shan't find one here! Pick thyself up and move along as the lovely Nuri says. I accept your challenge, make you note, but here is neither the time or place, gryphon. Rest assured, however, that we will meet in battle, and that I will warn you ahead of time, but now is the time for us to move on, for isn't it our charge to mind lady Skye? A lot of good we shall be to her beaten and broken over infighting, wouldn't you agree? After she is beyond our charge, I shall face you with the greatest of my power... Perhaps then you will be able to say the same..." Ordos then looked to his right hand. True, he had stopped powering it when Nuri began to negate it, he still didn't like how easily she could do so. She could pose a problem... "Now then, fair lady Skye and Nuri-lovely one," he said with a sincere smile, "Let us take leave of this - Oh my... Friend golem, you are unharmed I hope? My most humblest apologies for your most premature burial - I just got a little caught up in the moment... Might I ask your forgiveness over this hopefully trivial matter?" Ordos was bowed before Gromnd, though out of direct striking range for fear of retaliation.

"Already forgot." Gromnd replied, before mimicking the bow was best as his rigid form permitted. Of slightly more concern to him was the comfrontation that, though now averted, clearly would errupt again at the slightest provacation. He stood for a second, inert as he tried to find words to sum up what he was thinking. Divisions were never good in such a small group, and given they needed every member prepared to fight, and potentially die for any other member, any kind of underlying issue was quite worrying to him.
"Harfang." Gromnd took a few steps towards the Gryphon, arms held at his side and wrists moved forward, assumably a pose copied from his human times. "If humans like demons. I no like human. Demons fight Skye and Gromnd and you's." He held his hand forward and pointed at Nuri and Harfang. "And you would no like humans too if they want kill you to make demons happy." He raised the arm up and scratched his head, apparently trying to work out exactly how to phrase his points.
"If humans no like Nuri, and that because Demons no like Nuri. And they want Nuri dead to make Demons happy. You say 'no kill humans they good' then? Or maybe it ok they want Skye dead? Because she not Nuri So then it ok?" While Gromnd had got close to Harfang, upon hitting some invisible barrier he had ceased all movement it was only his voice that was threatening.
"If Harfang think that Demons good because they want Skye dead, then if Skye hurt by Demons, or humans who like Demons 'cuz Harfang no fight, Gromnd kill you." He waited for a second before turning his back on the Gryphon, letting his warning sink in. There was an air of malice to his voice that made everyone realise that the Golem wasn't so much threatening as making a promise he had every intention of keeping. They could easily assume that this applied to all of them also.
"We leave now, not want more Demons come." He grummbled before beginning to walk towards the pass.

"Well met," Anima said rising. He listened intently to the golem's speech, if a little piecemeal. "If Harfang think that Demons good because they want Skye dead, then if Skye hurt by Demons, or humans who like Demons 'cuz Harfang no fight, Gromnd kill you." Upon hearing that, Ordos smiled, a little in satisfaction that Gromnd thought Harfang was out of line as well, but moreso upon the golem's determination to protect Skye. "Very well met, Master golem, if I may so address you."

Nuri shook her head and turned her solomne-sad eyes to skye. "Sad and sorry is Nuri Cursed-one already rifts to form...." one of her wings folded around and deftly she pluched one of the glosssy blach red-sheen feathers and handed it to Skye. "Keep eyes open Wise Skye and be wary of this Anima... Nuri Cursed-one cannot place it but she has crossed paths with power long ago it is hard ot remember though. Many lifetimes of all creatures ha s Nuri Cursed-one lived and mind is clouded by two thoughts... Kepe the Feather so if ever the party is eperated I may find you..." Nuri turned and walked away towards the pass, as she walked her form enlarged and took on its avian shape until the gigantic Black Phoenix was standing where she had been. Nuri spread her wings and took flight leaving the others upon the ground. She circled overhead waiting for them to start moving.

"I Gromnd, that all." He replied in response. There was a sound from him, a bit like he had just drawn breath, before he shrugged slightly and began moving again. "Demons want Skye dead, then steal stone to do stuff." Gromnd mummbled to himself, he didn't attempt eye contact with anyone, as if he didn't realise he was speaking his thoughts outloud. "Wonder what stone do? Maybe it makes Demons bigger. Or get let them get Demon boss?"
----------------------------------------
"Where did they go, little boy?" Scourge held the frightened town guard up against the damaged village wall. One of his jaws dribble saliva across the guards face, while two bladed tentacles were busy creating shallow, painful cuts into the mans legs. Scourge knew some of the events he had missed. Apparently a Golem had entered the town accompanied by Skye, a Gryphon and the Phoenix/Human that he had been warned about. The Golem had then gone on the rampage and destroyed much of the town before the group had left. The man tried to speak, but his mouth was dry and throat swelled with fear. The words unable to reach his mouth. "Speak...or the village...dies." Scourge hissed, pressing his face up against the mans, his sunken eyes glaring into the mans, large teeth pressing against his flesh. After a few seconds of non-response Scourge hissed at the man, showering him in spittle.
Scourge dragged the man into the woods. He screamed for three hours before Scourge finally let him die.

Scourge suddenly heard a faint voice inside his head, and as it spoke it felt as though a breath spread across his spine. "The pass." there was silence. "They are going through the mountain pass."
Choula watched the humans, the gryphon, phoenix, and golem. The newcomer was interesting, the power of light? How interesting indeed. Choula would have liked the fight to happen, it would mean that one of the two powerful members of the crew would die. It was only a ahuge disapointment when they decided to wait. Choula sat back, and that Scourge... hopefully he got her message.

Harfang was trembling, his rage was so great. Not only had the man Ordos Anima refused his claim for a duel, instead "putting it off" (like a man like him could ever fight in a fair duel!), but then the great golem had threatened him! Threatened him! This was not to be borne. It was impossible. It was...beyond all shame. This was something that he had never heard of in all of his life. It hurt him, more than anything had ever hurt him before. But he could not let out the pain. He could not release his pent-up frustration. If he did, he would make enemies out of Skye and Nuri too, and right now, he had enough enemies as it was.
So, both Ordos and the golem needed to die. He would find a way. He would find a way to kill them both. Maybe he would let Nuri live. She seemed good enough, even if a little interfering. But no...the golem and Ordos had to die. And Skye, of course. She was the most evil of them all, carrying a devil's stone without a hint of remorse, a demonic talisman that probably gave her great evil powers. Skye would die too. They would all die, all three of them, even if Harfang had to die himself to kill them. But first, he would take the stone. First, he would do justice.
Without a word, without even letting go of his anger, he rose off into the sky. He didn't look back, didn't speak, didn't even raise an eagle's cry. Instead, he went up, high high up, above even where Nuri was, and circled. Circled like a bird of prey. Circled like he was waiting for death. And that's what he was doing. Waiting for death to strike the group. He would steal the stone, then he would use its power to kill the group. OF COURSE! That was it, that was the only solution! To use the power of evil to destroy evil! They say "fight fire with fire". Well, he would steal the stone, and he would use it to destroy the rest of them, those that had hurt him and scorned him. He would use the stone to destroy them all. He circled overhead, waiting, watching. It was getting darker and darker. Skye would have to sleep soon. And as soon as she did....the stone would be his. All his! But until then, he needed to keep his head, not to explode at all the others, not to burst with anticipation. If he kept his head, he'd finally get the stone......

Fine... Just fine... "Well, if we may, I'd like to move on, as I thought that's what we were doing. Milady Skye, lead on, if it pleases you."[/color]
